Took my FAR test on May 31 and will not know my score until June 10th. Does anyone find it hard to getting out and back into study mode? What has been your experience?

This may be odd but one thing I liked about being on study mode was being off the hook from all my other responsibilities around the house like serving as the handy man and landscaper of the house.

One other thing, Is it normal to feel guilty of going to the Pool or watching TV all day after the test? I can’t help to feel guilty for some reason I think I should be studying or something LOL

Now I have all my home responsibilities piled up when before I paid someone to take care of it since I had the excuse that I was in study mode…

Today no studying but will be a full day of landscaping, taking care of all those things that fell behind during my study time and watching TV. Jun 10th cant get here fast enough

I know exactly what you mean about getting out of other obligations while studying. As much as I hate studying, it's nice to have one central focus and goal than many little ones that you don't really want to do. After studying for months I'm also finding that no one understands that I just want to do nothing for a little while. Oh well…

Yes… I quickly concluded that I was absolutely unable to study for the next section while awaiting my score for the previous section. Couldn't start FAR until I had my BEC result; couldn't start REG until I had my FAR result, and couldn't start AUD until I had my REG result. At least after AUD there's either nothing or AUD again. πŸ™‚

This really didn't matter much for FAR; I was took BEC at the very end of November 2012 and sat for FAR mid-January 2013. However it did make a difference for REG and AUD. I originally wanted to sit for the REG in the Jan/Feb window of 2013 but didn't receive my FAR score until the end of February, so I moved REG back to Q2. I made sure that I would have my REG score in the first wave of Q2, but that still wasn't until May 6, which left me basically 3 weeks to study for AUD.

This probably borders on paranoia but I just couldn't get started with a new section without having a conclusive result that I wouldn't have to do the previous section again.

since I haven't actually passed any tests yet– waiting until next week to find out— I am not starting a new test … so I am in limbo… HOWEVER… our house in on the market and (that sucks– having showing each day)… plus we are in the process of moving next month– so although I did go to the beach yesterday and am enjoying reading a book for the first time in months… I can't really relax… and all I want to do is study… which is ridiculous. I just don't know whether to start studying BEC AGAIN… or start studying AUD…

    have to wait… !!!!

Life of Pi is what I wanted to see after my AUD test yesterday. Too bad, it was out of RedBox's stock. I picked Day of the Falcon out instead.

I plan to start preparing for my FAR-1st Retake tomorrow until I get my AUD result on 6/10. It should be my Plan A.

Plan B: (if I fail AUD) Set aside FAR materials and focus on my AUD-B materials instead for 3Q-Testing Window.

I hope I won't go on this route, please God!

I sat for FAR on May 24 so I am still waiting for my results. I feel that I did very well on the MCQ but could have done better on the sims. Weather has been crappy here so I have spent the weekend continuing my studies with FAR until I know for sure that I have passed before moving on to my next exam which will be REG. While it may be beneficial to start with REG I believe that my entire focus needs to be on FAR in the unfortunate even that I do not pass.

When I began testing in 2012 I would take a break from studying while waiting for my grade. What happened for me is that it was really hard to get back in the studying groove. After I got my grade it would take me a few more weeks to get started again. Starting at the beginning of this year I have committed to no study breaks until I have passed every exam. I do take some “small” breaks – like after my exam last Saturday I took Sunday and Monday (memorial day) off, but then got back on it Tuesday.

Just what has worked for me – I can't afford to let me mind wonder off these exams at all until I am completely done.

During the first week after post-test I try to debrief by doing all the things that are other than study. Like mowing the lawn, fixing stuff around the house, going to eat out, cleaning up desk, organizing materials for the next section and putting aside stuff from the last exam, attending social and family events and allowing self a drink or two along the way πŸ™‚

However, there is always daily guilt or like a flash of uncertainty and dismay of why I'm hanging around and not studying! But same stuff happens to me during early days of vacation, so nothing new.

I usually would take the exam on a Friday and maybe start the following Wed/Thurs. Since this is potentially last exam, I gave myself a treat and am acting like I passed. No studying until scores come out. I have basically been studying since Jan 2012 so I figured I could use a little breather.

    Good luck to all.
