We’re all thinking it, I said it…. what do aspiring CPAs actually do for fun??

-I like to read, I’m big into fantasy novels but I read almost anything. This is the one thing I make sure to do every night despite my studying schedule

-I’m a gamer, I rarely get time to play anymore but I’m a pretty hardcore Modern Warfare player, and I dabble in some Minecraft and Starcraft 2 when the mood takes me.

-Board Games, another thing I wish I had time for. I’m not talking the boring Monopoly and Scrabble type games either. I play mostly Euro games like Caylus and Steam, and I’m a huge fan of Cosmic Encounter. I’m a bit of a board game geek.

-I’m also quite the home poker player when I’m not so low on funds.

-Couple any of those interests with some craft beer and I’m a happy guy

So what about you guys? I know we’re all busy, but there’s always those things we daydream about doing after we’re done with all this studying!

    1. travelling the world (16 countries so far), 2. shop (which girl doesn't?), 3. music, 4. dining and wining šŸ™‚ – not recently though šŸ™ CPA exams and resheduling sucked my bank account, and 5. last but not least watching reality TV (ha!) – cheapest hobby which I practice a lot lately while I am not studying hehe

I'm a very avid reader and love football. I also used to go to the movies a lot more and sketch before I stepped into the business world and the CPA.

Now that I've taken my last section, I can't get enough of my newfound freedom! I read/watch tv every free moment I have! Starting tomorrow, I'm going to start a workout routine again to take off what I've put on over the past 6 months because of this exam. I've never been happier to work out in my life lol

I am with Megan, trash TV and gossip E!, and Bravo are my favorites. Other than that, I love to go back to PR and visit my family, I haven't been there since February ;(. I love to shop and since I live in south FL go to the parks in Orlando.

Kasia – I've never been happier to work out either! I just started the couch to 5K running program a few weeks ago, and I've really liked it. I haven't really gained a ton from the exam (well, except for 40 pounds gained and then lost from baby B), but I still need to lose the weight from my first son! yikes. But I need to start taking better care of myself for sure.

@Megan, I put on about 15 pounds total so I didn't completely explode, but I am at my heaviest weight and I'm not in the least happy about it because my clothes feel like I'm raiding some one else's closet. Today is me last day of comfort food and tomorrow, I start with a clean slate and my Zumba & P90X DVDs. God willing, I'll be in better shape in the next 6 months (my goal deadline).

After the exams i definitely need to start warming up to the idea of exercising and improving my diet. Arhh… I really hate exercising but I want to fit back into my pre-CPA exam clothes.

@ misanthrope “Everyone falls into accounting because they can't of what else to do.”…that is definitely the case with me..with that said..I have a deep liking for yoga, I will be a certified yoga instructor soon (its not to actually teach but more for my own curiosity and interest) the reason I bumped into yoga was actually because I was quite depressed about not passing the CPA and had bizillion questions about life and suffering and existence and yada yada..ha! other than that I enjoy hiking, camping, cooking, and being a total couch potato at times (which is so rare but I cherish them)..I like to read when I can..I love walking and although I do not seem to lose any weight or look any fit I go to the gym regularly even if its for 30 mins..no matter how hectic my life is..Im at peace with myself when I workout/yoga/pilates etc and I breathe well and feel great and can also focus on cpa better šŸ™‚

~Reading – 99% fantasy fiction if the book is my choice. I'm in a book club at work, just to force myself to read other stuff.

~Roller Derby – 3x per week for two hours, plus tons of volunteering and more recently I was voted to be Treasurer on the league's board of directors, so I'm sure it'll take up even more of my time. We are going to be in a lighted Christmas parade this Saturday, and I believe we have a Toys for Tots event this weekend too… so much going on!

~Hiking all over Northern California – hiked Castle Crags last summer and it was awesome

    ~Snowboarding

~Gaming – I've been playing WoW since it started.. met my fiance in WoW, he moved from PA to CA to be with me (3 years ago). I quit WoW for the CPA exam but now I'm back! Also enjoy playing Kinect games although I rarely have time for that.

~Drinking red wine šŸ™‚ and beer occasionally

~Watching shows with my fiance.. pretty much anything with my fiance. He's amazing. We enjoy The Vampire Diaries, Up All Night, Man Up, The Office, and a few others… What can I say, I'm catching up on my TV shows since I only watched like one show at a time when I was studying for the exam
