Hi All,

So i have just sent all my info to the Texas Board and waiting to hear a response. I have purchased CPA excel software and have gone in and taken a few diagnostic tests. I am thinking about purchasing the NINJA audio, since i am in the car 1.5 hours a day for my commute. My only concern is i am a mother of three girls, 1, 5, and 10. Not sure how i am going to pull off studying and being a Mom. My husband is there to help, but i don’t want him to resent me. Any advice out there on how to make everything work? Thanks.

You can do it! I actually live in Texas, too…have a 9 year old step-daughter, a 6 year old daughter and a 11 month old son…and a full-time job…and I am doing it! It is sooo totally do-able…you just have to have the drive and discipline!! I am also using CPA Excel as well (with other supplements). I passed Audit with an 85 using CPA excel…I did fail BEC right after…but I honestly just don't think I studied enough. Anyway, just have a positive attitude…and express to your family the importance of you doing this…and you can! I take my notes with me to my daughter's gymnastics…(also CPA Excel has an app you can use….I LOVE it! I use it while taking kids places where they play…)…Getting the Audio is a good idea given your circumstances, too. GOOD LUCK!

I have 2 kids, but I was finishing my masters while I was working full time and doing these exams.

Make SURE your husband knows going into this that you are making a huge and temporary commitment. Remind him its not forever but he is going to have to be mr mom for a while.Thank him all the time, nothing keeps a spouse's morale up like being appreciated excessively.

That said, use the crock pot OFTEN, no need to waste valuable time cooking/waiting for meals. A crock pot should come with every CPA review.

Accept that things at home are not going to be up to your standards for a while, during this time you'll miss a few dance recitals,PTA meetings or teacher nights. Your house won't be as tidy as you'd like it to be. Your girls may watch a bit more tv than you'd prefer.A bedtime story may become “once upon a financial audit…….” Baths may have to go from every night to every other night. Its ok, it does NOT make you a bad mother, it does NOTmean your priorities aren't right. Its temporary and your kids will never remember it.

Definately do the audio. Also listen at work if you can, or when you're falling asleep at night. Its handy to listen while folding laundry or pulling weeds in the garden.

And don't be too hard on yourself, be nice to you! Its insane but now that I'm done I look back on it fondly.

You can do it! I have two girls ages 5 and 8. I work full time also. My husband is a great help to me and has been very supportive. He is realy going to have to back you up. You need his support!

Yes, Jeff, a ninja crockpot with a recipe book included is a fabulous idea.

@Here we go, check out the ninja audio. Heard nothing but good things about it. If I weren't less than a week from BEC, I'd buy it. We spend so much time in the car it's a shame to let that just be wasted time. You could also use it while you're making dinner, cleaning, getting ready in the morning, etc.
