It's summer and I have ZERO motivation to study…

I REALLY don’t want to waste a testing window but I REALLY don’t want to study either with the nice weather coming. I’m from New England so I only get 4-5 months of really nice weather a year. I have zero motivation to spend another summer couped up in the house and ruining my family’s plans for fun. I need suggestions on how to keep going AND not risking another fail because of half-hearted studying…

    HELP ME!!!

Lately, that's been my number one misery point.

My family kind of relies on me for fun. My wife is a homebody so the kids are stuck in the house all the time and it's just misery for everyone. So I feel really badly because we're just stuck there all the time.

It's a tremendous guilt trip for me.

Totally feel you on this. I just graduated with my masters and moved back to NYC from Cali. and instead of catching up with all my friends I'm stuck at home studying. Worst part is that most of my girlfriends really don't understand what goes into the CPA exam and get upset that I can't go out, when in reality, partying is all I want to do. #CPA problems

Just get yourself to a library or coffee shop really early in the morning so you can still enjoy the rest of the summer days. You are better off passing these exams now then later lol

    I know that feel, bro.

My tennis leagues have started up so I still get a chance to experience the outside. Usually just limit drinking to Fri or Sat night with friends. I mostly end up the DD now because I want to get an early start the next day LOL. I'll just study until the student union building closes (10pm) and head downtown afterwards.

Same here. I am back home visiting friends and family for the summer. I just passed AUD and I feel like I need to take that confidence and momentum to my next exam…but I am having a hard time getting started…again. I think whoever posted above about getting up really early in the morning is right. I think I am going to start at 7AM and go to noon everyday. That's 35 hours a week, and the rest of my day I have for myself. Now, that's just me, because I'm not working or anything at the moment. But yeah, it sucks to be stuck inside on a beautiful day.

The thought of having parts expire was motivation enough to keep me going. I NEVER thought I'd be anywhere close to having any section expire – but that's exactly what happened. I took my last test at the end of Feb 2012 and BEC was going to expire 4/9/12. Luckily, I made it!

I'll jump on this complain train. Just graduated this past spring, it's my last summer with all my friends in my college town. They're out grilling and drinking every night, I'm trying to figure out what the (censored) is going on in audit. πŸ™

Thanks mgoloubenko, I hope so. However, I put in a lot more work and a lot better quality work for those other exams than I am for audit. I might have been been out grilling and drinking a little too much lately haha

Haha just try to focus for the next month, take it in early July and then you'll have the whole rest of the summer! Better than having to re-do it.

In on this. Not taking FAR til the end of August so that should give me plenty of time for Aruba, Vegas, ATX and everything else!

I felt the same way last summer. It sucked. I missed out on a lot of things. But the only thing that would have sucked more than missing last summer would be missing this summer too due to not having passed all my exams. Remind yourself that you will be in the same place doing the same thing next summer if you don't bust your a$$ now and pass your tests.
