TheCPAJourneyMember@ mgoloubenko Right on! Kiev? They seriously need to have a private messaging feature on this website or some way through which forum members could contact each other privately. It could help bring CPA's together and prevent heartbreaks that the OP had to go through.

ManueloMemberI look at the glass half full. The CPA, for me, is a blessing in disguise.
I was homeless for about 24 months at age 21. Failed 2nd year business school. Was clinically depressed. Wages garnished and vehicle seized. I got fired from two jobs. I lived with other homeless people under bridges and overpasses with little as possible. Cold and scared, I didn't know where my life was headed.
Then Salvation Army, and local charities gave me food, water, shelter and a base from which I could start life again. At 23, I was fresh and got a job. Graduated from college the following year doing full-time school. I'm 25 now, studying to become a CPA, manage my parent's business, have a great car and I also own a house I bought recently. I'm also a singer and am part of a quartet where we perform at a competitive level. Late nights I head to the gym to keep my body and mind fit.
So, my adversity led me here. I believe most people my age haven't been thru what I had been thru. I took on a storm and won. I'm passionate, aggressive, ambitious, dedicated, focused, have the drive to succeed, not afraid to fail. It shows the way I talk and behave. I'm thankful to God that I'm doing CPA but this isn't where it will end! My brother will become one of the youngest doctors in Canada at 24. With his money, we will invest, invest, invest. CPA is a short-term goal, but it has become the starting point of my life where things go the way I wanted to. Going from homeless to this, only God knows how, he helped me and I've made it a point to stay positive and try my best and dream big.

jenuno01MemberMaybe Jeff can create a tab on the main page where the single people can submit profiles (similar to the bloggers)… I'm trying to widen the horizons of this site. Is this a creepy idea? I'm tired, I am going to take a power nap Manuelo-style… AKA Napuela. Don't judge.

TheCPAJourneyMember@mgoloubenko I love traveling around the world which is why I know a little bit about different countries.I've never been to Ukraine though! Someday I will.
I'm from Dubai in the Middle East. I've been in the USA since I was 17 though. Trying to knock out these exams before I start work next month.
Do you to college in New York or do you work?

You are so right about women as professionals being an issue in some relationships. That really played a role in my relationship because on top of pursuing my CPA I work side by side with the controller at my work and my ex was not in the financial world. Our city is not huge and it seems very difficult to find an educated man with goals that is confident enough to handle a woman with ambitions as well.
