Is reviewing every week worth it?

Do you review your notes or book every week or so? I find this takes a good amount of time the further you get along your studies and I don’t know if it’s worth the time when you are going to review everything at the end anyways. What do you guys think?

I didn’t do it for any of the other sections, but am trying to do it for FAR since there is so much more material.

    BEC - 84, 4/6/13
    AUD - 77, 5/28/13
    REG - 83, 4/12/14
    FAR - 83, 10/3/13

    Ethics - 90% 4/24/13

YES. If you have Becker – do the comprehensive progress tests after every chapter you do. It helps keep the older stuff fresh and you'll retain a TON more.

That was the key to me feeling more comfortable in the exams.

    AUD (4/8/13): 78
    BEC: (5/20/13): 86

For FAR, absolutely! Review is crucial. I reviewed everything after R4, R7, and obviously after R10.

For me, it wasn't. I use Wiley, so reading through the book doesn't take as long as listening to all the Becker lectures…but I would read a couple chapters a week, whatever I could manage, until I got through the book, and then go back and do MCQs to review everything. Sure, I knew the recent stuff better than the old stuff…but my total study (including 2 weeks or so of review) was about 6 weeks, so it wasn't ancient history when I got to review…and for me, it would've been a waste of time to do all the review. If I'd been doing the review, I would've known Chapter 1 inside and out, and been clueless about Chapter 8! (Or whatever the last chapter was for FAR.)

I would say that if you have done well previously without doing the weekly reviews, then you might still be fine. But…if you were to get back a bad score on your REG, then maybe consider changing up your study routine. Before getting my FAR score back, I had planned out exactly what I would do for AUD if I failed FAR…glad I didn't have to implement that plan 😛 but my thought is as long as my methods are working for me, I'm not going to rock the boat!
