I’m having one of those days today. Those days when you just want to throw in the towel and call it quits. Maybe it’s cause I’m just getting off of a crazy tax season or cause I’ve been getting pressure to pass this darn test from so many different directions.

I think I’m just going to lay in bed tonight and try to unwind without feeling guilty of not studying. Then hit the books hard again in the am.

@Jomarie you are a WARRIOR. Sometimes, you just gotta let your brain rest… I do that all the time, especially on the weekends, I just cannot get motivated to study more than 2 hours. Put in a good a movie and veg out tonight! The books aren't going anywhere, they'll be waiting for you in the morning.

@jomarie: You are a trooper! I don't know you and you don't know me, but I have one thing to say. Wow! Wow to your perseverance. I honestly can't name many people who have worked so hard for anything or deserve it any more than you. 30 attempts is unbelievable. Best of luck with your journey, and remember you have until February of next year to pass just two more sections!! It probably feels far but you're more than half way there, considering now you can focus on just two parts.

Remember that more than half the battle is just getting your attitude and mind set on what you're doing, and not looking back after you make that choice. Often, it is our own insecurities and worries that set us farther back than any other obstacle. Good luck!

I think my thing is I don't take days off. When I run I run. Then it hits me. I'm kind of treating this quarter as my last. I want to be done once and for all. I want my life back and the promotion that's waiting for me at work. I want to be able to spend time with my family.

I don't know what else to say besides thank you to my cyber family. It's time for me to hit the books a little before getting ready for my crazy day.

@jomarie, I just wanted to say that I've been reading your posts for awhile now and I wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you really are. I take my first exam May 3rd so I haven't passed or failed any exams but you've already helped create this little fire in me that keeps telling me “You CAN do this and don't EVER give up”. It's ok…you are having a rough day. You are totally a warrior like jenuno01 said! You are coming off tax season and exhausted. Take today off, maybe even tomorrow. Make dinner with the kids, unless that is a chore too,then order dinner!! HAHA. Enjoy your evening with your family, be mom and flop in bed early tonight. A good night's sleep always helps. Wake up tomorrow, rewrite your reasons why you are doing this, and read that list for a few minutes. A great night with the family, a good night of sleep and you will be ready tomorrow. 🙂 You still have about 5 weeks til FAR and can do this.

You can do this!! You've encouraged me and countless others throughout our studying and now, although it may be very tough, you can get through this!

I, myself, am going through a challenging time and am trying to move past it. I know this is completely different from the frustration of studying for the CPA exams, but I do empathize with what you are going through and am rooting for you!

I am glad you are feeling better. After failing REG, miserably, I took 2 weeks off. I thought it would help but I got lazy and did not want to study. I procrastinated and now I am a week from my test and starting to panic. I agree that a day off is great, I just suck at only taking a day! You are so close!! So proud of you!

I know how you feel Jo. I had one of those days yesterday too. But instead of relaxing, it took me an hour to do an MCQ, yes an hour of gazing at the screen and fighting with myself until I broke down. Then I decided to exercise, clean my room and talk to friends. No regrets.

I'd like to think the cycles of the moon has something to do with this.
