I thought BEC was relatively easy, even though I received a better score on REG. After taking BEC I knew I passed it…I didn’t know if I passed or failed after taking REG. I have heard AUD wasn’t too bad either…Any thoughts?

    BEC - 88 (MAY 2011)
    REG - 91 (MAY 2011)
    AUD - 90 (July 2011)
    FAR -(TBD)

When do you take AUD? I took it yesterday and while I hesitate to say any section is “easy”, AUD was the least painful.

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

I haven't taken BEC yet, but I felt the most confident walking out of AUD…

None of them have been easy but BEC was the easiest for me when I took it in 2010 even though I got my lowest passing score on it (79). This was probably because it was just 90MCs back then. Using Becker, I knew B1 econ stuff pretty well and the B3 IT stuff as well. I didn't even get time to cover all of B5 managerial acctg stuff but still went in there to take it.

Sorry, I didn't mean “easy” as in not having to study…I meant least difficult.

    REG - 91 (MAY 2011)
    AUD - 90 (July 2011)

Of the three I have taken, Audit by a mile. I do think that it really comes down to luck as far as what simulations you get and what mix of MCQ's.

    AUD - 92
    REG - 88
    FAR - Awaiting score
    BEC - 8/13

AUD and BEC were the easiest. FAR and REG can make you leave the building crying

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

Aud definitely easiest to study and practice mcq questions. Least calculations and well organized CSO. I did all.the wiley questions in 2 days…kinda impossible with the other parts.

Bec short content but the most complex calculations. Easy to prepare for.

Far and REG hard to prepare for hardest exams. REG defies logic and has too many rules

Least to Most Difficult (exam) → AUD, REG, BEC, FAR

Least to Most Difficult (studying) → BEC, REG, AUD, FAR

    – BEC can be a pretty hard exam, depending on the amount of calc questions you have. The up-side is that BEC is easier to restudy if you need a re-take. (I studied for only 2 weeks after I received a 74, then passed)

    – FAR is by FAR the hardiest due to the volume of material covered. A failing score for FAR is brutal, because you have to re-study that whole entire book.

    – AUD can be brutal to study for, especially for those not familiar with auditing concepts and the profession. The exam is not too bad….if you study the material. This stuff may put you to sleep.

    – REG, like AUD, may be hard for those without experience in tax.

    BEC - 71, 74, 77 (Feb - 2011)
    FAR - 73, 78 (Feb - 2011)
    REG - 83 (Nov 2010)
    AUD - 71, 84 (May 2011) - Done!! CPA licensed in TX (July 2011)

None of the exams are easier than the other and none of them are “least difficult.” They are all extremely difficult.

But as far as the amount of material you need to know, BEC has the least amount of material.

    YIKES!!!

I have to agree with Mom…it is much like a band aid. I personally don't think any of them are easy. For me, it is a matter of which ones I enjoy studying for than the others. I have passed BEC and FAR..out of these, I enjoyed studying BEC the most. This is because I like the econ portion, it is interesting, and also because it is not subjective, it is very concrete info. I am studying for REG and also will retake Audit this window and they are not enjoyable for me to study. There is so much gray area. YUK.

    My two cents worth!!

i feel BEC is the relatively easiest for me so far, but not really easy. i was not ready to take it last year last window (November, 2010), but i still went for BEC exam because i was afraid of writing added this year, i passed and i was so glad and released.

I did find AUD is really difficult for me even though i also passed on my first try, but when i was preparing, I hardly got the idea. I have never worked in any accounting area. i think for those found AUD is easier probably they have some background of auditing or accounting.

REG is a pain for me, i took it a week ago, i am sure i have to retake it again… i got unlucky too since I had most of my MCQs were complicated calculations and lengthy wording (80% at least)… REG involved a lot of memorizing which is definite my weakness.

FAR is another monster i am currently preparing, i can't get into it right now, hope i will get better later on….
