I’m not checking my score until after my next exam

    I took FAR on 5/14 and my score has been released. I’m scheduled to take BEC on 5/31. I decided that I would not check my score until after I sit for BEC. I took FAR in January and I got a 71 and it really screwed me up. I’m doing really well preparing for BEC (73 in February) and I feel like if I check my FAR score and I did not pass I will not be able to finish studying for BEC, nor concentrate the day of my exam. Has anyone else tried this? It is very tempting to check my score but I’ve found comfort in reading post about people who have passed.

    It's a good idea, but hard to do. Good luck!

    B 2/12 87
    A 11/11 90
    R 8/11 86
    F 5/12 88

    I am going to try to not check my scores until after I take BEC (my last test). By then the first 2 scores will be posted. My 3rd and 4th scores will likely come out at the same time. I think its a GREAT idea not to check it. If you failed (fingers crossed for you though) you'll just get discouraged and distracted for the test coming up. At least I would. I know if I fail REG and or AUD (the two sections that will be the hardest for me I think) I'm likely to say #$@# it to BEC since I'll be testing again the follow window anyway. I'm least worried about BEC but still want to make sure that I prepare well enough.

    I took AUD back in October (73 in August) and was leaving for a vacation in November. I didn't want to ruin my & my family's mood especially since we were going for a really good cause. I came back in December and decided I would check my score after I'm done with all the exams. I took REG in Feb (71, 72 earlier) and 4days before the test my bf broke up with me…I was miserable and figured, “since i'm already sad, I might as well check my score…” My little brother forced me (forever love him for that) and found out I had passed AUD:).

    That's some dedication. Do what you need to do to get through BEC. I'm scheduled to go on the 30th.

    I received a 74 on AUD and broke up with my gf a week before taking FAR. Sucked, bro. But the pass made it a million times better.

    Don't think I could do that. Pins and needles every time waiting for a score. I got a failing REG score right before AUD but did ok. Try to focus on one at a time.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

    @CPA628

    When do you take FAR? This was my second attempt and I made my own study plan with Roger. I skipped the lectures this time and reread every page in his book. I then did the Wiley MCQ's and TBS's at least twice. Also did the AICPA released questions from 09-11. I'm still using 2011 Wiley with 2012 Roger updates.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback. The last time I took BEC my boyfriend in I got into a huge argument and he ignored me for days leading up to my exam which made it hard for me to study. On exam day I was still very angry and couldn’t concentrate on my exam. I told him he was responsible for my 73. I think I’ll pass this time. I’ll be off from work all next week and that will give me plenty of time for final review.

    I hope we all pass this thing soon.
