    Hi all,

I am about to enter my 2nd busy season at work with 2 exams under my belt(AUD and BEC). I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how they manage to study and work at the same time. I work in auditing btw.

I was planning on not studying at all during busy season but I feel like its a risk. Wondering if it is doable?

It all depends on what kind of hours you are going to be working and the length of your busy season (for audit it will start any time in January and end when your client files).

First step would be to discuss with your team to see if there is any flexibility, but most likely they will tell you to study during lunch/dinner time.

Utilize time spent in your car with audio lectures.

Get up as early as possible and study before you go in (this is where it gets rough, especially if you work late hours).

I won't attempt it myself, but it can be done if you are dedicated to a miserable existence for two months.

I'm planning to take busy season as a break from studying and just focus on learning and working the best I can (my first tax season). Plus, since I just passed my first and hoping to pass my second in Jan, I feel that it will still fit ok in the 18 months. When I started my job the partners recommended that I DON'T study during tax season because they don't want me to burn out, end up performing poorly at work and failing the test anyway. That being said, if I find myself with some extra time and energy I will probably end up watching some lectures and doing some light reading…

Looks to me like if you follow the plan in your signature, you'll be right on track for your 18 months with even a couple to spare in case you fail a section.
