    Friends,

I have 2 months to go for FAR exam (my first CPA exam) and feel my self totally lost ! I honestly don’t know what is the best strategy to study?? I use Roger review course. However, when I watch the lecture then read the material I spend around 3 hours. Next immediate recommended step is to solve around 80 to 100 MCQs related to that topic!

Solving the MCQs and Sims consumes a lot of time, say around 5 hours !! This is mainly because most of the concepts are pretty new for me therefore I read and try to understand each answer even if I get it right.

If I continue this way, it gonna take me a lot and lot of time and my major constraint is TIME !! as I am a full time employee and have a kids at home! Afraid that by the exam day I wont finish all the topics!! 🙁

Can anyone help me out and advise me as how to go about it? Is it possible if I carry on with the lecture then reading the material and doing only FEW MCQs then finally do all the Wiley problems for the last 3 weeks before the exam day??

    Appreciate you help and advices.

Don't do the sims and try to do as many MCQs as you can.

I was working full time when I passed FAR as well. I did all Wiley-book MCQs three times and wrote down everything I didn't understand.

I was doing 25-30 questions on a workday and catching up on the weekends.

If you want to pass this one, you'd have to sacrifice most of your family time.

@75 Thnx a lot for the valuable reply. Do you think if I watch all the lectures first then hit the MCQs latter is a sound idea?

Or I must do MCQs after each topic's lecture??

I would watch all the videos and take note then hit all the mcqs. Good luck.

Follow the lectures. 2 months is a lot of time to prepare for FAR. I spent 3 weeks. LOL. Thought I was doomed but scored the highest of my personal scores.

So follow the lectures. Right after each, you may practice MCQs on that particular lecture while it's fresh in your mind. Then move onto next lecture and repeat. Never used Gleim but did supplement with Wiley. It's too much to try to go back to all MCQs after all lectures.

Keep note of every area you feel is the hardest and need to revisit. Think that may do.

Jeff (Another 71) says, you must first nail all the videos then hit the MCQs!!

I think that is a good option as well as you may forget most of the MCQs you did and you will need to redo them all over again.

Or, once you get to the MCQs, you might forget all about what you learned in the lecture; hence, have to listen to the lectures again. LOL.
