I think the info is great Jeff! I too don't think reviewing SIMS is very helpful…

I have to admit I was hoping for you to post “How to pass a section of the exam in 1 day” because then I wouldn't have a chance to lose motivation…

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

today I started your approach. I have been working MCQ 20 each for the subjects I hate the most and “rinse and repeat” until I score 70-75 or more!! such great advise. I don't know if I will re-write my notes but working the MCQ is definately helping. thanks again!

    #FAR IN TMINUS 17 days!!!

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)
    AUD FAILED (2x)

OMG do I ever agree about the sims. I just tried a practice exam on Wiley and was getting fed up with the SIMS so I stopped and closed the exam. I scored a 65 on the MCQs. Now I'm going to go back and redo a practice exam without SIMS. Need to get it down NOW!!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

I know Jeff says to skip the lectures but I feel that the lectures refresh me with the topics (since I took FAR 2 years ago and passed it). Do you think if I watch the remaining lectures by the end of this weekend, then do insane amount of MCQs all next week, next weekend re-write Jeff's NINJA notes, and the following week do more insane MCQs, I'll be ok for the 29th?

    Peanut,

For FAR and AUD I did every MCQ in the Wiley text and test bank. FOR REG and BEC I did that as well plus every Passmaster question. While doing lots of MCQ was exhausting the more I did and the better I understood the answers, the better I felt about how prepared I was for the exams. I'd rather do overkill on the MCQ than not enough.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

@jomarie I think that sounds good, I'm doing something similar and I sit the 31st. I think the lectures are helpful too and you get more out of the questions that way.

My strategy, to get through the material as fast as possible and still have reinforcement while it's fresh, is 2 days per section (1 day of lectures and 1 day of MCQ). Becker has 9 sections. After I get through everything I will have an additional week and a half to do only MCQ. During that time I plan to go back and do all the MCQ I got wrong a 2nd time and all the supplemental MCQ for the first time. Then I will take a practice exam or 2 and do the Becker Final Review. Hopefully I can stick to that plan and it will be enough. No time for re-writing notes or reading ancillary material for me.

    Good luck

    B - 85 (5/31/11)
    A - 93 (7/1/11)
    R - 87 (7/29/11)
    F - 77 (8/31/11)

Becker is the best, but personally I wouldn't waste my money…. had the same situation and was going to take the exam on Aug 29th… I refuse to pay for this crap twice… Good luck and God bless though…
