I work full-time so I have always studied 3 -4 hours a night each day. I now am about to start only working part-time on only MWF in order to get these test passed, but I don’t really know how to study ALL day long.

How do you do it without falling asleep, getting a headache, and getting completely distracted?

Set a schedule and have breaks every so often. (E.g. I'm going to watch lecture 1 and then do question set 1, then I will take a 15 minute break to walk around. Next I will watch lecture 2 and….)

Try using the pomodoro technique, check it out here at https://www.pomodorotechnique.com/ You can also search on this forum for info about it. There are a few of us who use that technique to study. Basically you study for 25 minutes and break for 5. Do four sessions like that then take a longer break after the fourth session. Then get back to the 25/5 sessions. The website explains how to handle distractions and interruptions. There is also a droid app for the pomodoro timer that I use that is great.

I've seen a lot about the pomodoro technique on here. I guess I need to check it out and see if it will work for me.

Nothing works better than motivation and always knowing why you have a certain goal in your mind. If you are motivated and want it badly, you can go at it all day 🙂

I am not a big fan of studying all day as I am getting older. I studied BEC and understand the concept of diminish return. I would say 2-3 hrs/weekday and 4-5 hrs/day on weekend is enough until the final cram. Many emphasize on how many hrs they study per day, but it's the quality that counts, concentration and focus. I studied for almost three hrs last night but felt sleep on my desk for 30 minutes, and I didn't even finish a quater chapter 'cause I was sooo sleepy…those three hrs didn't do much to me…

depends how long you've been studying. I'm noticing that for regulation I've come pretty far now and I Don't need to learn anything knew….I just need to refine what I know and learn it deeper….so doing one hour of pure questions with 100 percent concentration is far better than watching slides for four hours and daydreaming.

I say mix it up. If you have audio, throw that in for one hour a day. Accounting is the language of business. The best way to learn language is to hear other people speak it, even better than writting. After you get in that hour, you could throw in an hour of multiple choice…and watching slides seems to take 5-10 hours of pausing and starting, and snacks, and 15 minute breaks here and there….if you're pressed for time….do 100 multiple choice questions without taking notes but reading hte answers every day for a week…then the next week let yoru eyes rest – you may feel like something is growing inside your brain…or your eyes have seize to function…..but you'll feel more confident if you cover everything at least once and then go over it a second time…and maybe third as you refine….

I'm looking forward to getting over the learning curb for the next three exams if i passed this test in april…..but if not, i've already started studying again for regulation….I did 34 problems today….in three different books.

I made studying my job. I woke up, took care of business and got my a$$ on the couch with my notebook. I made sure I was comfy…I had the tv/radio/music on when I needed it, had plenty of food and mountain dew within reach and took a smoke break if needed. I kept my eye on the prize and reminded myself, no matter how much it sucked studying at that moment, it would suck more to be still doing it 6-12 months from then. Aderall xr are your friend too, especially on test day.

I never did really study all day because I don't have the stamina or time for that. My brain just turns to mush after about 5 hours of straight studying. I would study for a few hours at work during slow times (pretty rare) and on my lunch breaks, and then take a break (by break I mean work) and then study for a few more hours after work at a coffee shop. But I don't think that counts as “all day” really.

I go to the U of H library with my boyfriend and we study for about 6 hours. We have red bull, five hour energy drinks and snacks. Nothing better than having someone suffering with you! Of course he is studying Biotechnology, not the CPA…not sure who has it worse off…
