How Much Study Time for Retakes?

Hi there….! I was just curious as to how long do you give yourself to prepare for a retake…? I am familiar with the idea that I need 75 points, not just the 2-3 points to pass.

    I am a proud recipient of a 74 for REG and a 72 for AUD…..

Thank you for any input you might have…!

I got a 74 on my first FAR attempt. I took the exam Friday 11/16 and started studying for AUD Monday 11/19. I got my soul-crushing 74 on 12/7. Since I had only put in a couple weeks on AUD (didn't get much done the week of Thanksgiving), and I didn't want to go back to the biggest exam later on, I jumped back into FAR 12/10 after giving myself the weekend to be pissed at my 74.

I had to take AUD at the end of January because of busy season kicking into high gear, so I did my FAR retake on 1/3. That gave me about 4 weeks. I bought the 10-point combo, read NINJA notes, listened to NINJA audio to and from work every day, and drilled MCQ all night long. I got a 77 my second time through, which I was very happy with since my exam seemed way tougher than my first try.

So for me 4 weeks was enough time. I would take a practice test and see how you do / what areas you need to focus on, then plan a schedule from there. Like you said, you need to study for 75 points, not 2 or 3 – but you should still have some knowledge in your memory from your first time through. A practice test would give you a base on where to start and how much time you might need.

It depends on how recently you took the exam (whether you remember what you studied before or not) AND how far you got through the material initially.

If you didn't get through all your material the first time, go through what you haven't been through yet, then you need 2 weeks of just MCQ's for review.

If its recent and you remember most of everything you can do a review in 2-3 weeks of nothing but questions.

    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass

    Thank you for the replies!!!

I tested for AUD on 5/29. I was able to cover all of the information. The only area I received a “weaker” on was SIMS. I received stronger/comparable on everything else, including MCQ's.
