How many weeks did you take to study/review for REG/ BEC??

Hi everyone–I’m studying for AUD now and most likely will take it August 12th. After that, I have to decide which section to take next. My NTS expires on 11/14, so I’m leaning towards REG then BEC.

If I start studying for REG August 19th (I like to take a “breather-week” between sections & actually live life outside of study, work, study, sleep), and take REG on October 7th, will that leave me enough time to study/review for BEC by 11/14? I can’t schedule the first exam any earlier than Oct 7th, since I will be working on 3rd quarter close that week.

Does 7 weeks for REG and 4/5 weeks BEC seem reasonable?

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Theoretically, your timeline seems practical. In reality though, there are many factors that you should consider by yourself (i.e.: study speed, study habits, prior knowledge, family, work pressure, unexpected circumstances, etc…). If you are used to a similar kind of study load then you should be OK.

    REG: 80 (02/02/2012)
    FAR: 91 (02/06/2012)
    AUD: 89 (02/09/2012)
    BEC: 79 (02/12/2012)

    Ethics: 90 (02/11/2012)

it doesn't seem like a long journey for you… man this whole thing is killing me, i've been losing weight and getting depressed. i envy that you got them all passed back to back like that. sighs, when will this be over before it's over me.

Take it easy, and don't let the exams control you. Just think of it as a phase in your life that you'll get over with and might even look back at it ten years from now with a smile. In addition to taking all exams in 10 days, it took me around two months to study (no job during that time) for all four parts. Despite of the results, I have to admit that this was a terrible plan. I over-pressured myself and didn't gain anything from it on the long run. It's nice to get done with the exams as soon as possible, but risking your results is hardly worth it.

Imagine the fun in waiting for the four parts scores that are supposed to come out at the same time!

Hi LongJourney–thanks for the advice, but I'm kinda looking for the advice of those who aren't a freak of nature (I mean that as a compliment!). I realize that it'll depend on a number of factors in my life, but I just want to get a sense of the timing others haved used when studying for one section at a time (& have also passed successfully).

P.S. I think you should change your name. “LongJourney” isn't exactly appropriate for someone who took and passed all 4 sections in 10 days–Haha! : )

I took and passed REG and BEC last fall in similar time frame. I was working mostly full time during study time. I took some vacation days as i recall, but took care of normal work responsibilities. I do not have small children at home but do have some family responsibilities. So NotAgain, I think you can do this!!!!

Thank you KEM! It's nice to know that it's possible, considering it sounds as if we have the same type of background (working full time, no small kids at home, some family responsibilities–which for me are the endless weddings/bridal showers, etc this summer–woohoo! Not sure which I would rather be doing, studying or going to another bridal shower…haha)

I did 6 weeks but I was working full time, in school for my masters and have 2 kids. Remove school & kids from the picture, and I think your timeline is reasonable.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75
