I started in 2010. Took BEC & REG, failed both, threw my books in the dumpster.
Regrets. BIG regrets. I never let go of the fact that I gave up on myself. I told myself I couldn't do it, and I believed it.
I returned to the CPA in Oct 2016. Failed BEC twice. FINALLY passed one (REG on the 2nd try). Then passed BEC on the 3rd try & Audit on the 1st try.
Last weekend, I took FAR for the 3rd time. So….11 attempts for me! Hoping and praying that last Saturday will be the last time!
Stick with it. I wish we could all be these amazing people who pass all sections on the first try, but I know that I am not that person. I was never a solid test taker. I always showed up to every class and gobbled up every point of extra credit possible – just so that I could fail the final exam and still get an A. Obviously, this strategy in my past college life is not benefiting me today. Lesson learned. Big time.
Regardless, the CPA is just like a marathon. I never thought I could do that either, but I did. If you train hard enough, you can do it. Sometimes there are set-backs, but if you want it bad enough, you will work through the pain and finish strong.
You just have to keep going. Accept the failures. Deal with it. Learn from it. Move on. Get stronger. Get smarter. Kick ass.
