I have been studying with a CPA Study review course (the one that rhymes with slime), and have not had great success. I’m considering another (the one that rhymes with checker), but it’s rather expensive. I can rationalize paying for the 2011 and 2012 versions on ebay, but I don’t want to cheat myself on the quality of the material.

Any thoughts on the material itself from 2011 or 2012 being materially different (ha) from 2013/2014?

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

If you purchase the 2011 and 2012 versions you have to make sure that those people also have the start up CD because without the start up CD for Becker those lectures are worthless. Also keep in mind that Becker usually expires within 18 months if you are purchasing material from 2011 and 2012 you may not have long with that material unless all you are buying are books. The very first time I purchased Becker on ebay I was burned. I bought the lecture dvds and then had to fork over more money for the installation cd, then come to find out the person had PDFs of the books and not the actual books. I would make sure you are getting the total package prior to purchasing anything. Roger and Yaeger are cheaper options but then again its all about which review course suits you best.

I purchased the Yaeger 2012 videos online for substantially less than buying them new. I supplemented the videos with 2013 Wiley books and the 2013 Wiley test bank to make sure that I had the most recent MCQs and Sims. I found this to be a good method to make sure I was covered without spending too much money. It has worked so far for me!
