First time poster here. I have been lurking for the last month and really appreciate everyone’s helpful insight. I just took Audit for the second time the other day after scoring a 74 at the end of the first quarter. After finding this out in the first week of march, I dedicated the next four weeks to re studying for Audit to not leave anything to chance. I originally only used Becker, but the second time around I purchased the Wiley Test Bank and Jeff’s Nina Notes. I did every one of the 1,000 plus Wiley Mc’s and the Simulations twice. In addition, reading through the Ninja notes every other night before bed really helped solidify everything. Personally, I had the most trouble with professional responsibility and the cycles in chapter four so I also re read these sections in Becker several times, and did the Wiley questions for these parts three times. I also re worked all the Sims and mcs for Becker but obviously much of it was memorized by that point. I really focused on reading all four nuggets of information, including the incorrect responses.

I found my second time around in Audit to be alot easier. I made sure to not spend more than an average of forty minutes on each mc section, in order to leave myself plenty of time to use the auth lit for the Sims. I felt over prepared this time around, and marked only 2 for the first section and four each for the next two sections. Even on the questions I wasn’t sure, I was able to narrow it down to two answer choices. Overall, I would be surprised if I got less than ninety percent of the 90 mc questions correct. The Simulations is where I really utilized everything I had learned from this website, and from my increased knowledge from Wiley. I expected to get a few funky sims this time, and I did. I was able to utilize the auth lit much more effectively this time around, as I was not pressed for time and I realized just how valuable it could be.

I know it is against the rules to disclose anything specific, but I just wanted to share what I did to make a difference. I feel I scored in the 80’s which gives me much more comfort than the previous two exams I took where I felt iffy walking out. On those exams FAR,76, and Aud,74, I had no idea how i did, so its nice to actually feel good walking out of the test center for once. I wont get too confident though, and will still gladly take a 75.

Onto BEC now. I look forward to helping in any way I can in this forum. Thank you to all who offer their valuable advice.

careful with thinking it was much easier this time around. much easier is bad in adaptive testing. i'm sure you nailed it but i also was 100% positive i passed with a score in the 80-90 range and failed miserably with a 68. Im still convinced they switched my results with somebody else.

I second @ppierce, be careful thinking that it was easy, this exam is very tricky. I wish you the best, im sure you got it!!

My first two times I had HOPE that I passed. The third time my exam experience was so horrible, that I almost cried in public. To my surprise I passed, and I still have no idea how did that happen..

I would also tell you not to be overly confident…but after reading your strategy and your test experience, I just don't see how you could've failed. In my opinion, Becker + Wiley Test Bank + NINJA notes = Guaranteed pass.

Agree with above posters…Audit is tricky, easy to study , but difficult to test ( in my opinion)….. I hope you are confident, and you pass…

You don't know if you've drastically improved until you receive a score. You probably improved your study habits but that's about it for now! Good luck!

    FAR Passed
    REG Passed
    AUD Passed
    BEC Passed

All aboard, this train's leaving. Next stop, TBD!

“easy to study but difficult to study” is the best description i've seen of Audit yet. Easy to study b/c the material isn't really that hard. There wasn't 1 thing i didn't understand, its all fairly basic stuff. And even the Wiley book and online questions weren't all that bad. Yet when i took the Exam, i would read the question, get very excited because i 100% knew the topic in the question, and then look at the choices and be like WTF???? There would always be 2 answers that were garbage and 2 answers that could be the answer. Tough tough tough.

    To Club74 –

Thanks for sharing your experience and advice. I'm so glad that you feel good about your exam! That peaceful feeling will help you to concentrate and study for the next section while awaiting your results.

I see that others are trying to be helpful by reminding you not to be too confident, but I'm sure you already know that, and you'll have plenty of time to deal with having to re-study AUD later, if, in fact, it doesn't go like you'd hoped.

In the meantime, enjoy the feeling of satisfaction that you worked hard and feel good about how you did. It sounds much better than kicking yourself every minute of every day, wondering and stressing, until results arrive.

I'll take the former any day.

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

Thank you for the welcomes everyone, and for the advice not to be too confident.. Like i said, I have been reading posts on this site for the previous month, so I have read many situations where people who thought they failed actually passed, and vice versa. The previous time I took audit I got a 74, and my reaction leaving the exam was that I would probably pass or fail by a few points. And sure enough I was right in the border. I thought I did well in the MC, and my score report indicated that I was above comparable in everything except for professional responsibilities where I was below comparable. I knew that I had blown three of the sims big time and this is where it really cost me.

This time around, I felt similar about the multiple choice. I noticed the questions getting harder, but after reading through Becker for a few times now ( this being my second attempt at), seeing the Becker MCs several times, going through all the Wiley questions, reviewing all the lectures twice, focusing on all the Sims in the AICPA released part of Becker along with WIley, and reading Jeff's Ninja Notes, I didnt feel like anything really surprised me. If you make sure to read the entire question, and all the answer choices, even on the questions you dont know you can usually eliminate two choices because they stick out as wrong. So I feel good about achieving a similar successful score in the multiple choice, but the reason why I sounded confident was because there was only one simulation this time where I was semi unsure about. The other six, I really feel I got the majority, if not all, of the answers right. I really would be shocked if I didn't pass this time around.

One of the hardest things about this process is the wait for your scores. I believe most of you would agree with me on this. So during that time, especially when you're studying for the next exam, I feel like it is better to feel confident moving forward instead of dwelling on the exam that is already over, subsequently causing more doubt into your mind than is necessary.

Anyways, again, thank you for the welcomes and I look forward to making contributions in this forum.
