I have officially rescheduled to take Audit at the end of next month. I have been trying to study but I don’t feel like I am getting anywhere. I am currently reading through Becker again and nothing feels like it is sticking.

How did you get through the beginning to study slump?

I had trouble with AUD. I tried using just the Becker notes twice, Yaeger once, and finally passed after using Roger for AUD.

It really sucked having to buy other review kits, but was worth it for me in the end. Being in industry (not public) I just had trouble learning the material. It certainly didn't help that I absolutely hate AUD either.

Have you worked any MCQ's yet? When reading and watching lectures don't help…working MCQ's might be a solution. Also, after working MCQ's for at least 3-7 days start re-writing or reading your notes.

I haven't pulled out the multiple choice again yet. That might be a better idea since then every time I get one right, I will start feeling like I'm making progress, instead of just chugging through pages uselessly.

If that doesn't work, I will probably start looking at other study guides. Becker seems very list based in audit and I don't learn from memorizing that well. I want to understand more than just know the list.

I did a ton of multiple choice when I passed too. I also made sure to practice every single Wiley testbank sim. I failed the last time only because of sims…

MCQ's till you have every single one memorized.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

@Diceman – the sims are what really got me. Comparable on the MQ for 75-80 but weak on sims. I just feel like I need to restudy because it has been months and a busy season since.

Mahina – I did a lot of re-reviewing on MCQ and watched a lecture series each time. I just focused much more on the sims the last time around and it made a huge difference with my level of comfort when actually taking the exam.

i noticed reading was a waste of time. all i did was listen to the lecture and then do questions. once you start doing questions you can see what you had trouble understanding so go back and listen to the lecture again until you understand it. it helps to have the wiley test bank so you can just keep practicing the questions.
