Holy cow! This entire process is very expensive! How in the world do you all pay for it? The exam fees, the study materials, the additional study materials, the exam fees again….(!) I will do everything I can to get this designation, but wow, I wonder how average joes can pay for it all!

Added it to my overgrowing debt because what's another $3000 on top of my outstanding student loans? Charged everything to my credit card. My small company was acquired by a billion dollar corporation a few months ago, so I asked for approval to have them pay for my ethics exam and it was approved! $150 out of ~$3000 paid for! Ridic.

My employer (Big 4) is paying for all of it. I'm an odd bird here since I am not an American, and also been working in the business for quite some time. So they cash it all, incl flights across the pond, hotel nights, food while studying etc, and half of the study time is paid for. At first I asked for a budget of about 10,000 euros (incl everything, except the study time pay), but had to revise it to 17,000 euros lol. Took some vacation days for studying, and then some days where they pay for half of it which will result in a deduction of about 3,000 euros from my payslip… So that will be all I will finance myself.

Big 4 Audit Manager from Europe here to pass the CPA in the U.S. of A in 2014! Niiice!

My employer didn't pay for anything, but I used Wiley and was lucky enough to pass on the 1st try, so my bills weren't too bad – I'd have to figure it up, but I'd say under $2k total. So, I just budgeted it into my life. I'd just recently gotten through college (for which I only got loans in my freshman year, the rest was cash-pay), so essentially moved what was budgeted for college to the CPA exams instead (with just a few months between the two that I got to actually enjoy having some extra $$ in my budget).

I had a scholarship for CPAexcel, but my employer would have paid for becker. and you work while you take it. But it is a lot more expensive feeling than I have ever thought!
