So, I still live at home for now (in the process of finding a house), but lately my family just doesn’t understand that I need to study. My mom keeps asking me to go shopping with her and I say I can’t I need to study and then she gets my dad to try to guilt me and I flip out. I’m starting to get overwhelmed because I am a family person but they don’t seem to understand that right now all I can do is study. Then, I have family telling me to quit because it has taken me a little while to pass tests and I keep getting close but not passing. I have almost reached my breaking point.

Absolutely, find a conference room at work and study there for a couple of hours everyday. With one exception, i've been doing this daily for six straight weeks (yes, weekends included).

Out of sight, out of mind. People just need to close their mouths for five seconds.

I have 2 little ones & a wife at home. Children are not renowned for their silence and obedience, unfortunately. 🙂

Therefore anytime I need to study, I head down to the office (luckily, my office lets me in 24/7). I, like you it seems, have to leave the house & turn off my cell phone to really pound it out.

Treat it as if it's a full time job – set yourself clear, distinct, reliable hours to study and do it everyday.

…and like Jeff says in his writings: tell them to go pound sand. 🙂

I definitely am the type of person that hates to say no when family or friends want to do something and so for me this has been such a trial that I had to fail and reattempt. I lost a relationship with a good girl twice over these exams, which was my fault for being involved when I probably shouldnt have been. EIther way it always comes down to just being tough and saying no and letting people respect that. If it doesnt seem like they dont it doesn't matter, stay your ground and they will have to respect you for that.

Its funny I didn't really think about this all too much until you posted this so thank you! Had I not started taking a firm stance recently I might have let more than Audit expire on me. Like everyone always says its just temporary and the people that love you and respect you will be there for you when it is all over. This is your journey
