i was able to get a cpa review for 2009 from my friend but I feel like things would’ve changed a lot during the past couple years. Is it not a good idea to study with a 2009 cpa review? wheres a cheap place I can get a 2012 cpa review? I believe that 2012 books are not even out yet. Would it be ok to study with the 2009 textbooks in the meantime? it should still be pretty similar right?

Bad idea…a lot has changed…been added…switched around..those 2009 books were written in summer 2008.

The test is hard enough as it is, why put yourself at a disadvantage by using old materials? You will end up paying more in exam and registration fees for retakes than if you just buy some decent materials up front. Buy some new materials and consider it an investment in yourself.

That brings up a good question. Since 2012 books aren't out yet, what's the chances something “eligible to be tested in Jan-Feb 2012” shows up on the exam?
