Greetings everyone my name is Ignacio, im new to the community and im seeking some advice for my CPA Exam, first off my main concern is what order should I take the exams. Around how much time should I dedicate to each part(month wise and day wise) and what study tools have proven more effective in the community.

    Thanks in advance πŸ™‚

I took the A, B, R, F approach. I thought it would be a good idea to get the easier ones out of the way first. Becker is okay, and, honestly, there's no set amount of time to study. You want to study until you are comfortable with the material, and this may depend on what courses you took in university/college.

edit: as an add-on, you should buy all of Jeff's stuff.

    A, B, R, F i am doing the same approach

But if I could have read Jeff's survival guide back in 2012 I would have take FAR first Audit next then REG and last BEC.

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

I am taking FAR, AUD, REG, and then BEC. After spending over 2 months preparing for FAR I am glad I am taking this approach. I took BEC 6 years ago and can already see how FAR might help with the cost accounting with BEC. Also understanding the financials is key for auditing. There is also some tax stuff in FAR that may help with REG. Do FAR first and join me in my misery:)

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I am also doing F, A, R, B. Glad I have already gotten FAR out of the way. Personally, I don't think I could deal with having to do the most difficult section last, when I am totally tired of studying and ready to be finished already. Just my personal opinion.

I study two hours per day during the week and 5 hours per day on the weekends and use Fast Forward Academy supplemented by Wiley MCQ test bank.

I studied about 200 hours for FAR (probably a bit of an overkill, but would rather not take twice). Planning about 190 for AUD, but have done about 60 so far and definitely don't think 190 will be necessary.

    Good luck!

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

If I could do it over again I would do FAR, AUD, BEC, REG.

FAR crosses over into all. REG is the most independent.

REG would also be a good one to start with since it is shorter exam.

I did B, F, R, A because B was the easiest for me. That being said, I am still struggling with A (the only course I got a B in during college)

    3XBEC:75 * 4XREG:82 * 4XFAR:76 * 7XAUD:77

I did the hardest first: F, R, B, A (studying now). The only downfall to this method, is if you pass FAR, but don't pass some of the latter exams you could risk losing FAR….and that is terrifying.

As for study time, I used Becker only and studied until I was finished with each section with only a couple days for review on each. For FAR, REG, and BEC I was not working nor taking classes, so I studied full-time for 8 weeks, 4.5 weeks, 4.5 weeks, respectively. Now, I'm working as an auditor (getting ready for busy season) and studying for AUD part-time for ~8 weeks.

    B - 81 (8/31/13) first attempt!
    A - 80 (2/3/14) first attempt!
    R - 89 (7/31/13) first attempt!
    F - 86 (7/2/13) first attempt!
    Licensed CPA: 12/31/14

    Becker rocks!
