So I just got to my first SIM that is a research question in CPAexcel…and I had NO IDEA how to search properly. I know a lot of people say that the research question is usually one of the easiest parts of the SIM section, but I am completely lost as to how to find the correct answers. I’d appreciate any tips, info, guides, videos, etc…

I am posting the actual question below. If you can help me with this one specifically, great. As stated above, general guidance is also appreciated.

If you have CPAexcel, the SIM is in the “Sources and Uses of Cash” section.

The Statement of Cash Flows has three primary areas of focus:

Operating Activities

Investing Activities

Financing Activities

Where in the codification is specific guidance provided for these three areas?

Lol…I know the answer (it was given after I ended the SIM).

My problem is, HOW do you search to find that? What term are you putting in? How do you know which topic header to then look under? Etc
