When I studied for FAR and AUD, I would study 3 hours a day on the weekdays and 4 hours a day on the weekends. That comes out to about 23 hours a week. That study method was successful and I passed those. But then when I continued that same routine for REG, it didn’t work and I failed miserably. Since I already started studying for BEC before getting my results, I decided to continue on with that and study for REG again after I take BEC on Oct 23rd. After my experience with REG, I don’t want to fail BEC, so I’ve decided to increase the amount of hours I study per day. Since last week, I’ve been studying 4 hours a night on the weekdays and 6 hours a day on the weekends. That comes out to about 32 hours a week. I started this new study habit a week ago and I’m dead tired from it. I’m barely getting sleep now and today, I am just dead. I almost couldn’t get up this morning and I’m struggling to stay away here at work. I can barely keep my eyes half open right now.

I really don’t mind putting in all these extra hours of study, but my body can’t take it. And I need to work hard as possible if I want to pass these tests. What should I do? Is this a sign that I should go back to my shorter 23 hours a week study habit due to my body giving up??

I slacked the first month and a half of FAR and finally in the last 4 weeks I did the math of how many hours i had to study, write notes, do the questions, review the questions and have a 7 day review. This required me to study 4-5 hours on weekdays after working my 8-5 and an hour in the gym, and i was in bed by midnight. Also, studied up to 20 hours on weekends and I have to say it was probably the most miserable ive ever been. but my advice would be if you feel like your body cant handle it, you should tone it down a bit and go hard on weekends. What worked for me on weekends was using my alarm clock and did three 3-hour blocks so i was able to study at least 9 hours a day. The alarm thing just some added psychology. Anyways, im hungover and i just clocked in at work and i feel like im rambling. but listen to your body, and keep in mind that your brain can only handle so much input especially when youre tired so it might lead you to a point where studying ALOT becomes counterproductive.

I went ahead and went back to my old schedule. I studied three hours last night only and right now, I feel great!!! Obviously, my body seems to work well with my old schedule. BEC is no where near as intense as REG and FAR, so I don't think I should be stressing so much over it. Right now, I'm actually ahead of my study schedule, so I don't think I need to squeeze in so many hours and get too stressed out over this. If I fail, then I fail. At least, I did what I could.

I just can't get over how difficult these exams are. Sometimes I wonder how I even passed FAR and AUD. Must've been luck, lol.
