    Hello,

So I have decided to take my CPA exams. I’ve been reading a lot of posts here and I still have some questions that I was hoping someone could assist me with!

I decided to take the Becker review course (Saturdays Starting March 2014). The way the Becker course falls, I can take two exams within each test window or one test on each test window (except in one test window two will be taken).

Audit – Becker in March and Test at beginning of April

Regulation – Becker in April and Test end of May

Business – Becker End of May and Test in July

Financial – Becker July-August and Test end of August

    OR

Audit – Becker in March and Test at beginning of April

Business – Becker End of May and Test in July

Financial – Becker July-August and Test end of August

Regulation – Becker in October and Test in November

I just wanted to get some input from people who have dealt with this…

    Thanks!

I would tell Becker to give you your money back unless they let you take FAR first. I think it is a mistake not to start with the hardest test as your first exam because once you pass your 18 month clock starts ticking.

I would suggest not doing FAR last. Alternate the shorter and longer ones like FAR, BEC, REG, AUD or FAR, AUD, REG, BEC. Stick to one at a time until you get it!

    BEC 80
    FAR 86
    REG 80
    AUD 73, 68, 72, 90!!

    DONE!!!

    Thanks for the info!

The bad thing is that Financial is only offered by Becker in July, so I really don't want to waste the first 6 months of the year and wait for Financial.

Becker suggests 2 chapters a week- I honestly don't see how that's possible. One chapter a week keeps me very busy. Also, you want to give yourself 2-3 weeks after you're done all chapters for review.

    A- 77 1X
    F- 83 1X YES!
    B- 81 1X
    R- 73 ._. got cocky. Retake: 83 Done.

    @alex

Are you doing the live sessions? I tried Becker fast pass and it was NOT for me!! “Fast” was an understatement. If you do self study (pick your own pace) you can do the exams in the order you want.

    BEC 80
    FAR 86
    REG 80
    AUD 73, 68, 72, 90!!

You can get the same video lectures from the self-study Becker review course. Dont waste your time with the life course, they dont add any value unless you need deadlines to follow.

    FAR-84
    AUD-
    REG-
    BEC-

Of the two options given, I personally would do Audit, Reg, Bec, and Far.

The order really depends on your personal preference. I had a strong understanding of financial accounting main concepts, so I did FAR last. However, when doing the other 3, I did have to review some FAR material.

I personally never did live lectures, but if that's how you learn best, then do it. It will force you to at least go through all the material. Plus, you will meet more people doing the same thing as you. However, I loved self-study b/c I could go at my own pace.

yea I'm doing the live classes. I need to be held accountable and ensure I get all my hw done etc. I think I'm going to go with the more spread out schedule to ensure I give myself plenty of time to study etc. Thanks for the input.
