    Help!

Taking REG on Sept 10 for the third time…. I am doing very well at the MCQ, have completed all the problems on the NINJA MCQ, and now I am reworking previously missed problems. Currently trending at 90%.

However, I have moved on to the simulation problems and I am doing very poorly! I feel like I am doing a bad job of understanding what the test makers are wanting us to answer… or maybe they do not always word it so clearly…

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have tips on how to approach these simulations so I can I can pass this test once and for all!?

The challenge with sims is that the content can be about anything, but generally there will be easier (research), medium (fill in a few blanks) and then harder (larger number of artifacts, longer fact patterns).

    Here's how I approach them:

Step 1: triage the sims for easy points. Skim questions to anticipate what to look for in any artifacts.
Step 2: Quick pass at all the MCQ to get items filled in (in order of difficulty)
Step 3: Final pass to improve results on harder questions

Some of the sims in the prep material can be equivalent to what a firm would charge a week of fees for! How do deal with those? I have found in my limited experience that very often you don't need to become an expert in all the artifacts to answer questions.

Beyond that – practice. The particular sims will not likely be on the exam but it's the time in the saddle you need to build up those callouses.
