jsblamerParticipantI am just looking for a little feedback for a good amount of study time for one section – my plan is to do the review course lectures, work the testbank and study ninja notes. I currently alot about 12 weeks for all of it, I think that may be a little too much; at some point, retention of information becomes an issue. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

tough_kittyMemberI used Roger CPA Review with Wiley Test Bank and it took me about 450 hours total to prepare:
FAR – 150 hrs
REG – 130 hrs
BEC – 70 hrs
AUD – 70 hrs
That includes watching lectures, reading textbooks, taking notes, practicing MCQs x 3-4 each topic, and reviewing my notes.
Good luck!
FAR: 81 (May 2013)
BEC: 81 (July 2013)
REG: 83 (August 2013)
AUD: 82 (November 2013)

Study MonkMemberKeep in mind tough kitty is an exceptional person. I put in more than 200 hours with FAR and by no means did I master the material. My estimate for audit is I will put in 150 hours. The smallest recommendations I have seen on review programs are like this:
FAR 160
REG 140
AUD 120
BEC 90
Education back ground and work history can have a huge impact on these numbers. I used to be a butcher so I am literally a meat head and need to put in a lot more hours than tough kitty who completed her masters in accounting in the last couple of years. I would also over study for the first couple to build confidence with easy passes. A lot of people who take the “just study enough” approach and up studying more due to retakes. Good luck!
I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:
"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

tough_kittyMemberAwww….Study Monk, you are so sweet 😉 That's true – I have years of practice as far as studying….but I also believe that Roger's lectures helped me a lot and I wouldn't be able to prepare that ‘fast' without them! Besides, as you can see, my scores aren't that great. I was aiming for 90's and barely got 80's….which just confirms what Study Monk said – gotta ‘over' study!
PS. Study Monk, my birthday is around Christmas too 🙂

tough_kittyMember@teeteenounouche: 🙂 I am a Capricorn and thank you for the compliments 😉 Not sure about Study Monk though…. I was actually referring to the comment he made about celebrating Christmas and his girlfriend's birthday…..Mine is on 12/24. So, if he ever decides to change girlfriends, he would get to celebrate her bday around the same time 😉 jk jk

teeteenounoucheMemberOh ok! Well too funny, there should be an option to add our Zodiac signs on A71…I use it at work to get a feel for the person I am working with and what triggers them, lol

Study MonkMemberRemember tough kitty I am unemployed and my resume is a mess. At least M.O.D can provide financial stability. I am probably better looking than M.O.D though and my charm is undeniable:P

tough_kittyMemberHahaha, Study Monk, I am not after money….Remember, I have a house and a job 😉 I am looking for a decent person….who happens to be exceptionally intelligent (like House, M.D.) …..and preferably my age or older, so you don't qualify 😉 Not to mention the fact that you are already taken!
PS. Loving your new signature! LOL
