Going over material before starting CPA Prep – worth it?

I heard about this forum in an Auditing class I took in college and I thought it’d be a good place to ask the following question:

I graduated college with an Accounting degree in 2017. Since then I’ve been working in Accounting (private). Does it make sense to re-immerse myself in my college material (perhaps also working with Gleim problems from past exams) before starting Becker (or other CPA Prep)? Or would it be best to just jump right in to Becker? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

It would be best to just jump into whatever review provider you choose.
I would suggest you take advantage of the free samples offered by all providers.
Each one is enough to help you pass the exams, and each will teach you everything you need to know, but if you match the provider that best fits your learning style and study habits you might hate your life SLIGHTLY less during the process. Don't assume Becker is the end all be all just because it is the most expensive. Lots of people fail with Becker. Try them all first before you chunk down the cash.

I also think you should start the materials right away without wasting time to prep. People get burned out with prolonged studying so just get to the materials. They provide all info you need to know. I used Wiley cpa excel and loved it! Very good thorough lectures and funny professors. Also, your materials never expire until you pass. It took me 7 years to pass all exams (on and off) and my materials stayed with me until the end without any extra fees.

@phillyphan, Have you paid for your NTS yet? If you have, I would jump right in. If you have becker already, then there really is no reason to wait. No, worries though, many of us faced the same dilemma , and many have studied and passed. So it will be no different for you. No more waiting, study and pass. I received an offer the other day about another review course, and if you listen to the short talk then you would get a large percentage off of the price. It is very similar to Ninja, with audio, notes and mini books on how to read the test questions, flash cards, and a 6 month money back guarantee. It sound good, but I have been at this too long, so I got the free flash cards and deleted it from my email. Said that to say, I don't need anymore products or systems to try, I don't need to waste anymore time deciding, It's time to study (what ever I have) and simply pass. This process can be a long and drawn out if we let it. Besides, I can't spend anymore money looking for a better way to study than just study. Welcome to the cpa war, jump right in, the Ninja's are here to cheer you on.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass
