Without getting into details, can someone tell me the format of the SIMS, a strategy to approach them on the exam, and what study source everyone feels (in their opinion) is the best to prepare for them? No part of this exam is easy; however, I feel like if there is an achilles heel with me, it will probably be the SIM-type questions. Thanks…..

Go to your local college library. If they have an accounting program, they will have accounting textbooks in the stacks or in reference. They will also likely have CPA preparation books. Do the SIMS from there, if you can't find enough in your software/online.

I would do 5-6 SIMS for each chapter/subject. Keep doing them until you get them all correct, just like with MCQs.

    BA Mathematics, UC Berkeley
Certificates in CPA and EA preparation, College of San Mateo
    CMA I 420, II 470
    FAR 91, AUD Feb 2015 (Gleim self-study)

Yeah it's funny. At FSU most of the accounting studies were also double majoring in Finance. I decided against it because I was worn out and I had already minored in Criminology. I wanted to go ahead and get the degree in Crim but I was exhausted.

As soon as I pass this exam, I'll be emailing Dr. Fennema. I still keep in touch with him every now and again.
