Within 3 months for this CPA journey, I gained weight from 110lbs to 140 pounds. Is this normal? When I’m stressed out I eat a lot.

Gaining 30 lbs in three months for your size seems a bit high. I've gained about 30 or 35 in the last 11 months, but I'm 6'4″ and was 220 lbs to begin.

Weight gain is perfectly normal for many people. These CPA exams are very time consuming and don't leave much time for working out and planning proper meals. Stress also impacts people differently.

Try to find time to work out for 45 minutes at least three times a week and find healthy snacks you enjoy. Also, taking a few weeks in between exams can help with keeping the weight in check. You can probably drop 10 lbs in three weeks (about 4 lbs water weight and 6 lbs of body fat).

Cook a ton of lean protein in bulk on Sunday for the entire week. Vegetables go in the microwave for 2 minutes. Done deal.

I'd say gaining weight during your studies is normal. Not sure if 30lbs in 3 months within a “normal” range, but everyone is different! I've been studying and taking exams since the beginning of the year and I've gained about 13-15lbs. Before I began studying I walked on the treadmill at least 3-4 days a week. But there's no way I could fit that in and still study, without sacrificing the small amount of sleep I get. Stress leads to eating, and I find that while I'm studying I always want to snack. You also have to think that you're more idle, since you're sitting in one spot studying for long periods of time. You're probably sleeping less as well. That can contribute to weight gain too. I say try your best to eat healthy, but don't drive yourself completely nuts. My eating habits always take a plunge when I get home from work and start studying. To compensate I try to eat healthy while I'm at work. I plan to take care of my added weight AFTER I finish all of my exams. My last one is BEC. It's in two days!!
