From passing FAR to studying AUD…is AUD easier?

My study plan goes like this-Read through all Wiley Powerpoint slides, do the MCQ on there, then go to the next section. I have a set amount of chapters I go through before jumping back and reviewing all I have learned. A constant cycle of learning and reviewing.

With my review I do flashcards and mcq. I also read Ninja Notes and do Ninja Audio in the car

After I get through all of the material I do TONS of MCQs on Ninja (that’s where I think I really start to get it). Towards the end I’ll do SIMS. Then I’ll memorize the reports.

I’m finding that AUD is easier to study than FAR and it scares me lol. I put a ton of work into FAR, it being my first test. After passing FAR is AUD generally easier?

    *I have no auditing experience

    FAR- 5/11/15 76!!
    AUD-10/31/15 63, 84!
    REG-7/12/16 72
    BEC-8/31/15 75!! Perfect Score!

I have virtually no audit experience or background. I felt that reading and completing all the Ninja MCQs was a great way to prepare. I feel like I way over prepared for AUD by studying for 2.5 months. Compared to FAR, there is a lot less material in AUD.

    BEC - 84
    REG - 86
    AUD - 92
    FAR - 90

Everyone's different based on what field you work in or what you like better but I found AUD to be much easier than FAR. The amount of material is less in AUD plus it's more theory.

AUD is much easier in terms of material but much trickier in terms of the questions. AUD will give you 4 correct answers and you have to pick the best; FAR generally gives you 3 wrong answers and 1 correct.

Studying for the Audit exam was a lot easier than studying for FAR. I was so scared of the actual test though because I'm not an auditor, took one auditing class years ago and so many people said that it was a tricky exam. I have to with coloradorit that you have to look for the best answer so that's where the trickiness comes in. I studied with Roger and he made the whole audit process seem logical and it really made sense to me. I took a bunch of notes, re-wrote them, did NINJA MCQs and used the Wiley book and this really seemed to help. Honestly I walked out of that exam feeling good and allowed myself to be hopeful. I'm glad because I passed on my first try with an 86. Just make sure to continue to do what you are doing. 🙂

    FAR - (11/01/14) 71 (02/07/15) 79
    AUD - (04/30/15) 86
    BEC - (07/21/15) 73 (10/01/15) 75
    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

That makes me feel a little better because I don't have an auditing background at all lol.

Tcohle,it should take you a lot less time to be ready for the actual exam if you compare it to FAR,but you should study as hard as you did for FAR. Dont forget that out of the 4, Audit has the highest failing rate. Good luck!

I also was never an auditor and only took the one required auditing class in college something like 6 years prior to the test. My score was due to self study, i had very little prior knowledge to go off. My pretests were all around 30%.

@martin I did some light studying after I took my far exam in May then went into 4th gear starting June 1st. So total of a month in a half by test time I would say

    FAR- 5/11/15 76!!
    AUD-10/31/15 63, 84!
    REG-7/12/16 72
    BEC-8/31/15 75!! Perfect Score!

I never worked in public accounting but I am an internal auditor. I'm assuming that helps a TON because compared to FAR, this is way way easier to study. Anxiously awaiting my FAR score tonight

    BEC - 02/21/15 - 82
    FAR - 05/29/15 - 82
    AUD - 07/09/15 - 93
    REG - 11/14/15 - 80

    All done!!!
