    Hi all,

I am writing here because I don’t want to feel like I am the only one going though this….

I am a 32-year-old male guy who started studying for the CPA exam in July 2013 and today, March 27, 2014, I am studying for my last exam: BEC. I am hoping to pass it by the end of May 2014.

I love going to the gym and I ought to say that what drives me into getting this done done is the fact that once I will be a CPA I will finally have free nights to go back to the gym. Meanwhile, I just can’t…. I need 8 hours of sleep to function properly. Then I go to work at 9am and stay sat down at my desk until 8pm. Then drive back to home and sit down at my home desk to study for the CPA until midnight. This caused me to gain weight. I do not know my current weight, but I know that I had to buy new suit pants because size 32 looks like a kids size to me now! I recently bought 4 new pairs of size 36 pants and those are now fitting my belly, which is now grossly sticking out…

Is anybody else in my same situation? I am considering a starvation diet since anything that I eat. even a tiny meal, magically transforms into additional adipose tissue!!!! I am so gross!!!!!

I just want to cuddle with my cat forever, then sleep and never wake up! I feel so nasty!

No, I need to get this done because once I am done I will look awesome again!!

But then I will also be older and I will not be able to lose weight as fast as I used to….

Maybe I should try cat food… it may make me lose weight!

    I am turning mental!

    CPA exam, I hate you!!!!

Ahhh the struggle is real 🙁

I've been trying to find time to get to the gym more lately because exercise helps me concentrate/stay sane. Usually I go on the elliptical and do flash cards at the same time so I don't feel too unproductive.

    FAR 75 (8/21/13)
    AUD 72 (10/29/13) 74 (2/12/14) 84! (04/01/14)
    BEC 75 (11/27/13)
    REG 72 (05/29/14) 74 (07/10/14) 86 and DONE! (10/02/14)

Is 8 mini cupcakes a lot in one serving?

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I went through the same…. I started my CPA journey in July 2013 and I am studying for my last exam: REG

Planning for the exam on May 14th (second attempt). I am 36 yrs old male.

I have been working out regularly for 3+ years and went from 23% bodyfat to 9%.. (185 Lbs to 152 Lbs)..!!!

But due to tight schedule I stopped working out for almost 5 months, seeing my hard work been washed away although I kept my diet in check to minimize the weight rebound (Reached 167 Lbs though) . I started to weight lift again either in the early morning or during my break.

I don't recommend going to starvation diet as your brain needs some carbs to function properly. With one exam left, just few weeks and we all can get back to our normal routines.

You can just keep your food choices in check as @hkumar117 post.

    Good luck….

The weight gain from this exam is much like the dreaded “freshman 15”, it happens to almost everyone!!!! Nothing like months of sedentary activity and stress eating to pack on the pounds. I put on about 25. No joke. I put a treadmill in my basement in January and it's making a huge difference! I've lost 14 pounds since mid January and still have more to go but I'm on the right track. I figured for what a gym membership goes for in my area, I would be at a break even on cost in 13 months. Now I have zero excuses to not spend 25-30 minutes per day using it when I know it's down there. If you have the space and funds available, it's a great thing! If I had failed FAR again in January, I had planned to watch Ninja Blitz on my ipad while running on it so I could convert treadmill time into study time! Thankfully I passed so now I watch crap on netflix instead, ha! 🙂

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂
    AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
    BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
    FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂
    Licensed Michigan CPA 🙂

I think the goal of mini cupcakes should be to make them tiny enough such that the energy required to remove their wrappers burns the exact amount of calories contained in said cupcakes.

    REG - 89
    FAR - 84
    AUD - 73, 86
    BEC - 89

    GA Licensed CPA
