How how do you find the motivation after failing multiple times? I started in August and I’m 0-3 (FAR: 70, 71 AUD: 70). I take BEC tomorrow, but I’m not confident. I studied a lot when I started 5 or so weeks ago, but I had emergency surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago so I was barely able to finish the last chapter.

I don’t want to make excuses, but life events keep happening right before my exams (family members passing and 2 relatively sudden surgeries). To make matters worse this time, I can’t even reschedule because my NTS expires Thursday. I don’t want to quit, but I’m burned out from studying. I’ve giving up time with friends and family sometime, but with nothing to show. With my REG NTS expiring 4/22, does anyone have any tips on how to regroup and get motivated again after so many failures?

    Passed all sections.

Lol. Same here, I am hoping to get two parts out of the way before the world cup. Don't know about USA but Spain will reach the quarters, if not semis. My exam is on April 3rd and then I have BEC on May 29th. Am working on Ch 6 now. Leaving 2 weeks for review but the amount of material is insane!

@nolifecpa – I just checked and my license doesn't say anything about how long it took, how many exams I had to take, or my scores. It just has my name and, the most beautiful number in the world, #27234. I love your attitude!

I agree with Mints 100%. Anger works. If you aren't offended by dirty words, I'd recommend listening to a daily dose of “25 to Life” by Eminem or “Bully” by Shinedown. It helps to keep the anger focused on the exam.

@nolife braxtorcpa mintsrgood and cr7. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes I do need to get angry. The amount of money spent I could have had a new car instead if the 1998 one I have. Sometimes I think all they want is our money. Good luck everyone.

@CR7 Are the curves for the exam different from state to state? For some reason I thought you were from Florida.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I took BEC 4 times – here's the advice: DO NOT EVER GIVE UP. You only truly fail when you give up. Change up the study patterns, change review courses, go to a different library.

Texas CPA - licensed in 2012!!!
