how does the percentage you felt correct correlate to your actual score? so we all know 75 score is not the same as 75 percent correct, so i was wondering for ppl who passed how do you feel about actual percentage of questions correct? i see some posts on here with ppl who were unsure about passing and ended up with like 80s or 90s. so do those ppl think they had gotten around 70 percent correct or what?

For me, it was just a feeling. Immeasurable. When I passed AUD, I honestly thought I had failed – there was one topic on my exam that I was weak on, and I felt I got hit pretty hard with it. However, I have a feeling I didn't really get hit that hard with it – those particular questions just stuck with me because I wasn't sure what the answer was. Time and time again….

When I got out of my first round with FAR, I knew I failed. I also knew it was going to be close, but that I would be just under the mark. I ended up with a 72. I couldn't have put a percentage to it though. I just knew that I didn't quite know enough of the material to get out of it with a win.

Point – I don't think anyone (okay, me at least) “feels a percentage” so to speak. I think it's just a…well…feeling. If that makes sense. 🙂

I've never really thought about it and you'll probably drive yourself crazy trying to quantify results. When I walk out of a test I never feel like I did so amazing that there is no way I could fail. Each score release is a bit of shock. It's emotional and can be unmotivating if you let it. Just try your best and study like your life depends on. You will succeed if you focus on the material and let the numbers speak for themselves on release day.

For FAR, I felt like the MCQs were pretty hard. The SIMs weren't quite as bad. If I had to completely guess on it, I'd say I got 70-75% of the MCQs and 75-80% of the SIM questions right. I ended up with a 91.

For AUD, I felt like the MCQs were a little easier. I'm feeling like 75-80% is pretty accurate for the MCQs, but I don't know if my third testlet was medium or hard difficulty, so who knows what that means. I also feel around 75-80% on the SIMs.

It's just so hard to derive any meaning from it. There's a good chance I got way less than 70-75% of my MCQs correct on FAR. Maybe I got more. Maybe the ones I got were on average worth more points and maybe my third testlet was harder difficulty, etc.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

My testlets for REG went MEDIUM, HARD, EASY? I felt I passed based on the first and last teslets, but I was for sure the middle test and definitely the SIMs were going to fail me. I ended up passing.

    Passed all sections.

With BEC, I was positive I had around a 74/75 based on the number of MCQs that I had to completely guess on (giving myself credit for some just for guessing correctly). I am guessing that all of the ones I had difficulty with were pretest questions, because I do not believe otherwise that I could have gotten an 83.

With REG (my first test), I was so devastated after the test, but I believe because I was so green in the process (I had not found another 71, and had no testing experience). Looking back now, I would say that I should have walked out of that test much more positive. There was really only about 8 MCQs on the whole test I was a little lost on (but a couple of the SIMs killed me). I got an 88.

With FAR, I felt like I passed, but didn't know by how much. I knew when I left FAR that I felt better about the test than I did walking out of REG – so that was why I believe I passed (I wasn't traumatized). I got an 86.

AUD was so easy for me I don't think I worked quite as carefully as I needed to. I left almost 2 hours early and was pretty positive I had passed. I got a 91.

    REG - Nov 4, 2013: 88
    FAR - Feb 27, 2014: 86
    AUD - April 5, 2014: 91
    BEC - May 6, 2014: 83

I've always been pretty accurate when judging my performance, every time I've passed I've pretty much known I was going to pass and the times I've failed, I knew. However, I tend to be an overstudier…so when I pass, I pass by a longshot, never just barely scraping by.

I was shocked I passed BEC because I guessed so much and screwed up the format on the written portion. I thought I failed FAR because it was so easy, and this was my first test. I knew I passed REG though. FAR and REG, I felt like I got most of the multiple correct. BEC, I felt like I got half of the multiple choice wrong lol. I was that lost during that exam.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

For REG, I felt like I probably got something near 80% correct (94 actual). With BEC, I felt like a got in the upper 90s percentage wise, but I think the computer grading of the written portion is what shaved points off (93 actual). FAR felt like 75% maybe (95 actual), I seriously flagged at least 7 on the last two MC sections. AUD I was super comfortable the entire time, because I had very few really “tricky” questions. I would say mid 90s% was an accurate guess (96 actual). AUD was the only exam I was certain I passed when I left, and since I memorized the main content that one just was not bad at all.

    REG - 2/4/14 - 94
    BEC - 2/27/14 - 93
    FAR - 4/14/14 - 95
    AUD - 5/12/14 - 96

I just don't think you can trust your perception and memory. We all have weak topics and to me it felt like every other question was one of my one or two weak topics. I honestly felt like I was going to be anywhere between a close pass and a close fail on FAR and ended up with an 85. I just think we focus on the few we really didn't know and forget all about the plenty that we read and answered in 5 seconds flat. Add into all of this the point weighting and pretest questions and I just don't see how anybody can feel all that sure about passing or failing because you just don't know

My predicted score coming out of each exam vs. Actual score

    REG – 78 vs 89

    FAR – 75 vs 84

    AUD – 90 vs 73

    AUD – 77 vs 86

    BEC – 76 vs 89

The only one I thought for sure that I passed was the first AUD exam that I ended up failing.

    REG - 89
    FAR - 84
    AUD - 73, 86
    BEC - 89

The first time I took Reg, I knew I failed. The whole test was hard and I felt like I didn't know any of it.

The other two times I passed, I honestly didn't know if I passed or not until the scores were released. However with both sections I passed I felt I did really well on the MCQ questions.
