Those of you who are preparing for early next testing window, go get a powerful study week as well. I know the weather is getting better by the day, but studying is only a temporary sacrifice to a successful future!!! Oooh, I like that line, I think I’m going to make it my signature quote. I feel ya! I know I'm not in a position to pass the exam as I have only studied a total of 4 days for it. Oh well…At least I get to enjoy Scotland while I am there and hit the books again in late June! Good luck to you! I am sure you will do great!

    Haha well if you pass you can make one of those threads saying “Passed FAR with 4 days of studying.” πŸ™‚

    And everyone keeps telling me I'll do great….but Far is kind of a beast.

    @misanthrope

    I haven't read those posts because it makes me uneasy! I know if I did pass it would be God's will and a bit of dumb luck! Also, again I haven't read the threads, but I can see how people would think that was bragging or something and I don't want that. Typed words can lead to huge misinterpretations and I don't want to get ‘uninvited' or in trouble for saying something by Jeff. I like it here too much πŸ™‚ my friends make fun of me. I talk to yall more than them πŸ™

    I think it's okay to brag if you achieve something great. And I don't think you would get in “trouble” for saying the truth about what you achieved. But yah..agree with you about this website. Ever since I started this journey I've been addicted to A71.

    those threads are bologna. To say you finished REG in 59 minutes is a goddamn lie and a blatant troll attempt

    Yea that's hard to believe for sure. Don't see how even a tax expert can finish that many MCQs and simulations in an hour.

    I did so good this weekend rewatching/taking notes on all the chapters… But now that I'm hitting the MCQs, I find myself SO unmotivated, to be doing this for the FOURTH time πŸ™ *cry cry cry** …. (First world country problems)

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    its not even finishing with an hour left, it's finishing in an hour lol. Assuming this person took 30 minutes for the sims, that means they averaged ~20 seconds per MCQ. It's not possible to read and do all calculations so quickly for so many questions

    And we all know its impossible to do all the SIMs in 30 minutes….at least not the ones I've been getting anyway =)

    here's a FAR question that is bugging me

    Not being able to account for beginning inventory will make:

    D) Net income overstated; no effect on retained earnings

    I understand why net income would be overstated but why wouldnt retained earnings also be overstated? Doesn't net income get credited to retained earnings at the end? Here is wiley's explanation

    “Inability to determine beginning supplies inventory would cause supplies expense to be understated and 2011 net income to be overstated. Cumulative supplies expense would be properly stated so there would be no effect on December 31, 2011 retained earnings.”

    I didn't open any of the ones that say stuff like finished in X amount of time or passed w/o studying…it is frustrating and depressing πŸ™

    But man, I would love to get a set of Sims I could finish in 30 minutes!! haha. I'm not going to say if they are telling the truth or not because there are some true genuises out there…

    @goodlucktoeveryone: Isn't there a rule somewhere that inventory errors correct themselves in the next year..or something similar? I remember reading that in Becker explanations. I'm gonna try going through all my incorrect answers later tonight or tomm, I'll post it here if I find something.

    @goodluck

    I think it's because even though they can't determine the inventory they started out with (maybe they didn't take a count or something), they still would have recorded somewhere all their purchases, so there wouldn't be any cumulative effect. And the retained earnings is for all the cumulative effects. Hmm. Maybe. Lol.

    @cpa628

    I believe inventory errors correct themselves in 2 years and retained earnings errors will correct themselves the following year. Can someone clarify on the retained earnings?

    @mis

    but isnt the retained earnings formula something like:

    beg R.E.

    +/- prior period adjustments

    + Net Income

    -dividends paid

    Ending R.E.

    If NI is overstated, wouldnt that mean ending R.E. is overstated? @_@
