OK this is the final week of the month and testing window. Let’s plow it down!!! Those of you who are sitting with me this coming week……let’s knock it down!! Those of you who are preparing for early next testing window, go get a powerful study week as well. I know the weather is getting better by the day, but studying is only a temporary sacrifice to a successful future!!! Oooh, I like that line, I think I’m going to make it my signature quote. Let’s go get it!!!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

I am at a point that I don't know what to do. I don't know enough to pass right now and I am struggling with it. I don't know if I should just stop studying and enjoy the next two days or power through for the slight chance I may pass. It is making it very difficult to concentrate. I am about to take a practice test…maybe if I do ok on it I will feel more motivated?!

It is your last one, akb! You are an inspiration to us. All you have to do is stay focused and keep trucking! Are you in a position to move the test? If you're REALLY not prepared, then it is not worth losing $200. But if you just need some motivation, look at your signature line for the ONLY score missing!!!

Well I have paid for the test so either way I am out of the money. I looked at pushing it to the 31st but there are no seats in the area…all four test sights are booked. I am going to take the test either way just not sure why I am sitting here killing myself for it…You would think I would be super motivated. Any time I heard anyone talk about not being motivated on their last test, I would roll my eyes and swear I wouldn't feel that way, but I do…Not going to make a decision now, just going to finish my practice test and see where I am and where I need to be. I was making mid 70's on REG practice tests and I passed so maybe I will be ok…we will see!

@akb9874: I'm right there with you. I don't think I'll pass, in fact, I'm pretty sure I won't…I feel like I should just stop studying and go fail the exam. Yet, little voice inside me keeps saying, “just push it through, study now, so you'll have to study little less for the retake.” I'm studying as much as I can, but not expecting anything in return. No exceptions = less sadness come score release day!

I have been doing MCQ today and I feel like I can't remember anything on chapters I have already covered πŸ™ I just got a 52 from 5 sections – 40 MCQ. For some of the questions I had NO idea what they were even asking. I wish there was a dictionary at the prometric because I didn't understand some of the words. They would use some big word and I would think oh that means before, and then answer was “they would not do this because it was after.” What? That word meant “after”?! Why didn't you say so!! This is so frustrating as I thought I was actually doing better for AUD than FAR. I feel like the CPA exam is close to impossible to pass. Why can't I understand these questions or retain any information?! UGH… I will keep trying though.

@akb9874 – I totally understand how you feel. I have BEC on 5/30 and took the second Becker practice test and totally bombed it!!! Plus, I only had 10 minutes to do the WC, so if that would have been the real exam, I wouldn't have gotten no where near a quarter of the 15% credit its worth!. This was a total confidence explosion…I did not need that right now. I really thought BEC would be “easier” than the other sections, but I'm finding it's just the opposite. So frustrating and wanting to give up cuz I honestly don't know how to retain all the formulas and take the test with sufficient time to do the WC to earn full credit. I'm so ready to throw in the towel…this is so depressing

Don't feel about BEC practice tests!!! They are very bad and I especially did terrible on the 2nd one. Less than 70%. But it wasn't a problem.

@mis – ok when I said totally bombed it, I mean i got a 56 and since I only had 10 mins to do the WC, that didn't help the cause. I can't seem to remember all the formulas and then I end up applying the numbers in the wrong place…uuugghhh.

What did you use to study for BEC?

Becker and Wiley online test bank. But the wiley online test bank is really similar to becker questions. I really don't like memorizing things and the few things I did memorize was the breaking even and related formulas. And maybe one variance formula. But for the rest I felt it was best to understand than memorize.

With such few days left before the exam, I'm overwhelmed and getting discouraged that I'm not sure what to study anymore. Do I right out the formulas again and again or just tackle MCQ and look up the formula if I don't know it? Does osmosis work? I'll try anything at this point!

You can do it in a few days! You should write them out a few times (doesn't have to be too many times) and work MCQs!

Thanks! I'm on the boat so I might as well keep paddling at this point! Best of luck to you. By the looks of your scores, I'm sure you'll do great on FAR.

    and Good Luck everyone!

I'm not feeling that great about my power weekend so far. It should have been a power week. I haven't gotten through as many mcq's as I wanted to. Well, if I don't pass there will be plenty of questions to do as a review for a retake πŸ™‚

    REG - 5/29/12 (64), 10/1/12 (74), 5/20/13 (75, expires 12/31/14)
    FAR - 8/14/12 (64), 8/5/14 (75)
    BEC - 11/19/12 (70), 2/25/13 (72), 11/21/13 (73), 1/21/14 (73), 8/30/14 (72), 11/24/14 (75)
    AUD - 4/22/13 (65), 10/12/13 (79)

    I'm done!!!

    Ethics - Pass

I'm doing really terrible on the derivatives and financial instrument section of wiley online test bank. The questions are more thorough than Beckers…but I really don't feel like I need to be an expert on those. Reminds me of the IT section in BEC.

A good idea is to go through the basic concepts section

it's amazing how we tend to overlook the basic stuff and get burned on them come test day

for example: rent received in advance is a

    A) current liability

    B) deferred liability

@_@ (I know the answer is A btw)

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 πŸ™‚
