    Hi Everyone,

I have been using Ninja Book for the last 3-4 weeks and have just mainly been reading and taking notes. I just completed Individual Taxation which took a full 2 days of reading and note writing to get an understanding. I have one more chapter (Corporate Taxation) which I feel will take me another 2-3 days to really read and understand with notes. Am I just really slow or something? I have the Ninja MCQ which I plan on hammering with the week I will have left. Plan is once I am done with Corporate Taxation I will start the MCQ and hammer corporate taxation, and Individual taxation. Also to review backwards and hit the MCQ for each section. Hopefully my review on each section wont take too long. I have taken detailed notes so hopefully that helps. I also have been listening to ninja audio for some of the older chapters just to keep somewhat fresh in my head.

Should I push my exam to the first week of Oct. and just give myself more time to study, and maybe use another supplemental material like Wiley TB and roger cram to really be ready?

Stgeorge – I feel your pain. I take REG on the 31st and I'm freaking out. I'm hitting high 50's/low 60's on the ninja MCQs when I definitely know I need to be at least low 70s. Fortunately I've created a back up plan and will re-take it in October. But obviously no one WANTS to retake these tests and we want to pass them on the first go.

You could take the option I am using: just suck it up and try to take it now with the possibility of failing and just retake it in October (though the thought of having to pay for the exam twice instead of once always sucks).

    BEC - 80
    AUD - 64, 75 - credit lost, 90!!
    REG - 73, 74, 83
    FAR - 61, 72, 85

Feels good finishing on my best note. Time to watch the mailbox.

I'm with you both. I test on the 29th and I am not nearly prepared enough. I am hoping to make it through all the tax information this week so I can spend the next 2 weeks reviewing.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

I agree @pandarama I am just going to keep hammering away and getting the information down. I will take it on the 24th and take one week off. After without knowing my score I will continue to study/re-review and probably purchase wiley test bank for new info lol. Might even get roger cram if I find out I failed.

Same here. Mine is on the 25th….I am studying full-time as well, it will be my first test I take and am not feeling too hopeful. Its so time consuming to learn a section of the book and then when you learn a new section, you kind of feel like the previous stuff slipped away. Wish I had known about the ninja notes here earlier, probably would have gotten them.

I had planned to review nonstop two weeks before the exam, looks like at my current pace it will be only one week of review. 🙁

At least I will know what to do/not do for my next section of the exam I will study for.

I know the feeling all too well right now. I just finished Becker for Far and I have 12 days until I take the exam. I wanted to go back through a second time but realistically I just don't have enough time. If you have already passed one exam, go ahead and take the exam if you're already signed up. Having one more chance in this quarter is worth it. If you fail then you can still take it again in October and you would have already been somewhat familiar with the exam. If you push back until the start of the next quarter then you have automatically given up a time to try for the quarter you're in. This really only applies if you've already passed as your expiration timer has already started. BEC will expire for me January 31st of 2016 so I will only have three chances left to pass. If I wait and try only in October or anytime in Q4, then I've only allowed myself two chances to pass. The only thing you'd be out is the exam sign up fee which is worth in my opinion is worth it. Best of luck friend. This test sucks!

    BEC - 76
    REG - 82
    FAR - 55, 84
    AUD - 72,67, 88

Hey, we are in the same battleship… I'm testing in 8/29 and I just started for REG, I'm not even closed to a 20% of studying but I will make every effort and sacrifice to finish this marathon.Just give it a try and keep doing mc's. Two weeks in plenty time.

    BEC-PASSED

    FAR- waiting on scores 8/8/15

    REG- 8/29

I totally understand this. I am taking AUD on the 25th and had been studying full time but there are times that I find myself so unmotivated. Another problem is that I just started a part-time accounting job at a small CPA firm, so that takes a little bit of my study time out, but at least it is part-time and no more than 30 hours a week. Plus, I don't work every day. Coincidentally, I also have 12 days to study, but in my case, it is for AUD.

On the plus side, I have read all the chapters and reviewed at least once, but that was over a month ago and I find myself restudying everything over again. The reason? Because originally I intended to take AUD first but because of a change in my schedule, I decided to take BEC first. So that also slightly hindered my progress. But at least I got through the chapters already and all I need is to review and redo all the MCQ's. But to be honest, I got initially got lazy at the beginning that I have yet to attempt parts of the MCQ's. I will be working on those over the next 12 days.

But from my experience, here is what I think. 12 days is plenty of time. If it makes you feel better, someone I know who passed all 4 sections of the exam (including three on his first try and one on his second) said that he studied for FAR for only a week and a half, reading and highlighting notes the first time through, reviewing, and doing MCQ's over and over again. He passed after only studying for 1.5 weeks. And this was on his first try. I find that amazing, and he studied full time just like you. And we are talking about FAR here, considered to be by most CPA candidates the hardest of all the sections. My point is, don't think that you have to study 180 hours for a section just because someone else said it. Don't think that your need 3 months just because someone else suggested it. Go at your own pace. Everyone is different. What works for others doesn't mean it will work for you. I find it easier this way and since then I have become more productive, because I no longer feel as much anxiety. From what I hear, it sounds like you will pass. Don't give up now. You can do it!
