    I took REG 3 times..first time I got 64. Then, 73. I then retook it in February and I found out I got 71!!!!!!!

Now, I haven’t taken any other sections, but REG.

I used Wiley and I truly believe that I tried my best this time..but I can’t figure out what the problem is…

I think there is something wrong with my study habits. Here is what I did! and can anyone please help me what the problem is????

    1. I thoroughly watched all wiley lectures.

    2. I then throughly read the book once.

    3. I created my notes. I read my own notes x6 times!!

    4. I did all wiley questions x3 times!!! I read all the answer solutions too!

    5. I used Becker Final software. I did Becker Final questions x 2times.

    6. I read Becker Final book once.

Can anyone please tell me what I did wrong???? I am not going to study for the next section until I find out what it is…

There’s gotta be something wrong here..I am so MISERABLE right now…..a;dfja;ldfjaodufa;ljakdj

I do not know about Wiley, but Becker materials were sufficient for me. I did the homework twice, did the supplemental questions and quizes they had before the test, and everything was ok. You have to read and read carefully.Everybody studies differently. I read and read. I read the chapter first as though I am reading a novel, then I read it again and take notes and make flash cards, then I read the sections that I think are little more complicated. After finishing the chapter, I do the homework to make sure I have understood the material. I leave the memorizations for the week before the test.

Do not give up… Change something in your study habits.

@willieverbeacpa… I haven't started REG yet, but I would suggest to read the book one more time. When you read the book the first time, you mainly remember the most important and difficult concepts yet tend to forgot small details. Another thing about re-reading the book is you might got the concept wrong at the first place! Yes, this is quiet possibly, it has happened to me on AUD, BEC, and FAR. I thought I got it right until I re-read it again…I usually read my Becker twice before the exam…I skipped couple FAR chapters (by studying only once), and I regret it while taking the test…just my 2c.

how were your diagnostic reports? were you scoring below comparable in the same areas each time? study the same material you did last time. but really focus on the your weak areas. do MC problems from your weak areas until you're consistently scoring 90% correct.

    BEC - 80
    AUD - 81
    REG - 85
    FAR - Feb 27

I had the same experience…REG truly is a beast. the first time i was screwing around and knew i was going to fail…then i got a 74…second time i busted my ass and got lower! the key to me was to really understand the material inside out…you probably need a different test bank because you're already memorized wiley. you should look forward to AUD and BEC because they are much easier IMO.

Ugh REG is the beast of all beasts! I agree with other posters. A new test bank is key for REG. They can create a lot of random questions for REG. Having an additional test bank might do the trick of putting you over the hump. Good luck!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I finally passed REG on my 3rd time. REG was hard, but it's doable. Here's what I did:

First two times: Just used Becker, and didn't finish all the MCQs in passmaster, didn't read the book more than once, and didn't do much review (still not an excuse to fail, I just underestimated these exams). Failed with a 71, & 72.

Third time: Used Becker, Becker Final Review, Wiley Test Bank, and Roger cram. Passed with 92.

First read the Becker book, watched all the lectures, and did all MCQs/SIMS in Passmaster/Final review…chapter by chapter,

Wrote bunch of notes, made note cards, plus used Becker notecards sometimes,

Watched some of Roger Cram video…mostly tax related, but didn't all the MCQs/SIMS in the book as they were very similar to Becker, Wiley,

Went back and read the Becker book again and redid all MCQs/SIMS in passmaster/final review again until I understood each question/sims,

Then did all the MCQs/SIMS related to Tax in Wiley,

Did bunch of Becker progress test,

Read the Ethics/Legal responsibilities pat in parking lot right before the exam,

Did about 48MCQs from the Becker Final exam, didn't have time to do much.

I spent about 2months+ studying for this exam. Probably longer than most average people, but it was worth it in the end. My one advise would be not to underestimate b-law stuff. Majority of my MCQs were related to law/ethics/legal responsibilities rather than tax. Really weird as that wasn't the case the first two times I took it…this time more than 70% were MCQs were non tax related.

Don't give up, you can do it!! Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can!!! You are almost there. I know how you feel, but you WILL pass REG. Good Luck!!!
