InactiveOk, so here’s my situation, I’ve taken the AUD & FAR parts only. Ive taken each of them 3 times, Failed every single one. I’ve scored between 67-73 each time. I feel like I need a month break during busy season before I blow a effing gasket and quit all together. Should I move onto something new, like REG or continue with the same 2 that I can’t seem to master. Part of my failed attempts is not allowing enough study time for each section. I’m going to work on that.
Any suggestions? comments?

MemberI'm in the same boat is you. It started with AUD, I took it 4 times till I finally passed it. Now BEC has got me to a fourth time, I just found out I failed with a 70 today. My plan is to take again April 1st. I think sticking hard to one section at a time and discipline will get us through this. Good luck! I just hope my last two (FAR and REG) don't take me 4 x each to pass! I'll never get done!!
AUD - Passed - 82 (10/1/13), Expires 4/1/2015 (57,62,64)
BEC - Passed - 77 (7/14/14) (53,67,70,74) Half way to CPA!!!!
REG - Passed - 81 (8/23/14) (68) 3 down 1 to go!!
FAR - Passed - 75 (11/11/14) I'm DONE!!!!!Illinois Canidate

ParticipantI would suggest not moving on. Pick either FAR or AUD and focus on one at a time. You know the material now its just time for you to put the icing on the cake. If you can study at least 5 hours a day or 25 hours in a 7 day period for the next 2 to 3 weeks. I believe you can get over the hump. This is the part where the CPA Gods separate the strong from the week. So go knock it out! It's also a good idea to really focus on the topics that you don't feel as comfortable with and make sure you understand it if it were given to you as a multiple choice or simulation. Good Luck!
FAR. Feb 2014 76
REG. Jan 2015 79 half way there!!
BEC. Feb 2015 79 thank you God!!
AUD. Apr 20, 2015 and will be done. Hold that thought 65, 7/14/15 85!
Ok where was I? Oh thats right now I'm Done!!!!!!!!!

InactiveMaybe that's what I should do. Take one section at a time. I think that may be another problem, I keep trying to fit 2 exams in one window :

MemberThat could be the problem, although you might be able to make that work if you plan it right.
Most people need 6-8 weeks to study for each section, or 150-200 hours if you want to look at study time that way. Even if you always did really well in school and are a good test taker, these tests are monsters and need special handling.
Take an honest look at your calendar– map out when the test windows are and when your distractions are likely to be, so that you can see where you've got a good chunk of time to study for each one. My main distractions are busy season, school, score releases, and anime convention prep time, just to give you an example. I mapped out a plan to take one test in each window, which builds in about 7 months of cushion for retakes.
Have you tried any of Jeff's free materials like the ELL plan? It might help you build a framework of studying if you're having trouble applying yourself. Once you have the plan in place, decide that you're really going to do it, and put 100% effort into it.
You can do this.
AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)Disclaimer: My ninja avatar is not meant to imply that I have any affiliation with this site other than being a forum member. That's a pic of a T-shirt that my daughter gave me for my birthday. 🙂

MemberHello!
So I have now taken BEC 3 times and AUD 2 times. I am currently using Becker self study, it will expire in November of 2014. I was able to convince them to let me switch to the live courses for BEC/AUD at no additional charge (they usually only let you switch types within a year but 1 year mark was in november) with the Becker Promise.
I failed both of them over the summer and then I retook them both in the fall, alternating. When I failed BEC for the 2nd time, I decided to just take it again versus switching with AUD, but then I did worse 🙁 I am starting to study for AUD for the 3rd time this week because the live class starts now, so I will take the exam in early in April. The live class for BEC isn't until the end of May/early June.
I also paid for all 4 sections upfront last June, so I have to take FAR and REG before then or I am essentially wasting money….Another reason I am pushing off BEC for now.
I am becoming completely discouraged by failing so many times…it's hard to stay positive when I put so much effort into taking the exam and then I fail anyway. How many times do I fail before I just accpet it and move on to something else? I just gave my self a couple of weeks off because I was going insane haha
Anyone have some suggestions?
BEC 66,70,67
AUD 55,71
REG 2014
FAR 2014
BEC 66, 70, 67
AUD 55, 71
FAR May 21
REG TBA

Inactive@samiam I have wanted to quit multiple times. One thing that always helps me is sitting down and writing down why it is I decided to pursue being a CPA. Another thing that has kept me going is reading all the success stories on this forum of people that have been at this exam for years and finally passed. They are very inspiring and it really makes me think twice about burning my cpa exam materials. I am honest with myself with how I study. In the past I have barely put in 100% and then try to sell it like I studied so hard. For this go around I am really studying and actually understanding what people mean when they say they are burned out from studying.
Good Luck. And I hope you don't quit. I will be taking audit for the 3rd time come April. You can do this!
