I have read the posts, see the scores and just completed the Far. The lowest score on a test I ever had! I have read where people are compalining about scoring a 71 or a 73….I wish I could have came near that. Really having second thoughts about all this….thought I knew how to study. This is soooooo humbling! What is a typical study day? I am using Becker….View lecture on one part, take those MCQ, do a simulation and repeat this? Help!!!!!

What did you get? Did you do lots of multiple choice questions, if you're just reading or watching lectures its probably not enough, you have to do the problems over and over again.

    F: 76 8/31/13 Wiley Test Bank
    A: 77 11/4/13 Wiley Test Bank
    R
    B

    MBA 06/2012 - ?

I spent some time just reading this forum last night. It was my own fault I failed with a horrible (I mean horrible) score. It wasnt Beckers fault nor anyones elses. I think this time I will wait and take the test when I am ready….not just plow through and hope for the best.I didnt even do and MCQ for the Government part (and it showed). I have seen many posts about the Ninja Notes, so I think I will test the waters on that..

Plan is to go through the MCQ and simulations spending 2 weeks ( about 50 hours per section in Becker) and make sure I have the concepts down more clearer – Probably take FAR again in March or April. After thinking what I did wrong, I could come up with the possibilities on the test between two correct answers ( 50 – 50 shot) which proved not to be a good strategy. Thank you to the people who posted their struggles…I have support through my older Brother and Mother. I am older then probably most trying to get through this but this forum changes ones mind about what one should do with their life. Thanks!

I've had a couple of shockingly low scores. The one for AUD is because I rushed through it, although I don't think I would have passed if I had taken more time.

The NINJA notes were what got me a pass on my 3rd go.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

@thewanderer I got my first audit score using the study technique you just listed: Watch videos, do MCQs and simulations. I got the second score by only reading the book, highlighting, taking notes, MCQs (Becker and WTB) and Simulations.

Some people can pass just watching videos, I'm not one of them.

Also for time I give myself about a week each chapter, that allows me to read, highlight, type notes, and then the last two weeks are full on review.

    AUD - 65, 89!
    REG - 70, 89!
    FAR - 78!
    BEC - 77!

    Finally!

I took me over 400 study hours to pass FAR – and just barely! It is a beast and takes every bit of studying time you can give it. Jeff's suggestion to rewrite my notes is what probably gave me the extra point to pass. I highly recommend it. Especially when the test has so much information you are responsible to know and use. I rewrote them all the day before so they were really fresh in my mind.

    BEC 79

    FAR 76

    AUD 2/28/14

    REG 5/31/14

I spent the whole evening coming up with a different strategy and it will now take me to April 1, before I can set for the Far and hopefully pass it. I think I need to take it in smaller chunks. I just got the Email for my score, what a mess! Too embarrassed to post it…even anonymously. Never have I failed this horrible on a test; I graduated with two Bachelors (honors). SMH!!!! My commitment showed – I was too interested in going to football games and studying only 3-4 days per week and committing to one day on the weekend ( a full day mind you). That isn't enough for me. Got my wakeup call today….especially after reading (once again) some of the struggles people have gone through…just glad I am not alone. I surely don't need to be beat up and feel worse than I do….thank you for the posts. Time to buckle down and remember this lesson when I pass! I'm in the same boat as all of you who have not passed and think about giving up every hour on the hour
