I failed my AUD exam and it was my very first exam and my second one FAR(don’t know how I’m going to pass this having failed the easier one) is coming up on the 31st this month.I don’t know what to do now or how to schedule each exam from now on whether one exam per testing window or one exam the first day of testing window and second one end of window? I’m just so depressed I don’t even know how to focus on studying for FAR….would greatly appreciate any advice =)

I am writing my response as I take a break from studying for my FAR exam on the 25th. First off not sure I would agree AUD is easier. I believe it is more tricky in fact, but my opinion. I have been studying for FAR like its the first time taking since its been 2 years since I tried it before. Just give it your best shot, dont let the AUD score get you down. How you want to schedule the next ones is up to you and your availability. I am trying to knock out 3 next window. Good luck and hang in there!

thank you littlenumberrobot! I am hoping that FAR will be better experience and only a miracle if I actually pass the first attempt. What study materials are you using? I have Becker and trying to decide whether I should buy other study materials?

I use Roger(books only), Jeff Audio and Wiley Online Test Bank. This will be my first exam supplementing with the audio.

The scheduling depends on how you can get the most out of your studying. I did best with one section per window, but I was spread pretty thin outside of the exam. If you've got a lifestyle that allows for more study time, 2 per window is probably manageable. Don't let AUD shake your confidence, I took it 3 times, but I'm a licensed CPA now and you will be too!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

It really depends on your background and more importantly how you learn/what comes naturally to you. I think generally people either have an easier time understanding concepts, or an easier time memorizing things. I do much better with concepts and really HATE anything I just have to memorize. I just took AUD (no score yet) but found it way $hittier to study for than FAR. BEC is next and will be by far the easiest section for me. I love that stuff. But based on what you see on the board you see people with high AUD scores complaining about BEC.

For me I hate AUD more than any other section. I told my facebook CPA study buddies that if I failed AUD I just won't be a CPA because I'm NOT taking that test again. While studying for AUD all I could think was “%$&! audit!”. You may find FAR is much more to your liking.

We all have different situations and different learning styles as well as different experiences. You can pass this exam, you will need to find out what works best for you. I know it is difficult to do, but you will need to regain your focus on the upcoming exam. It is important to understand your own strengths, weaknesses, other responsibilities, etc and take all of that into consideration as you plan your strategy for passing these exams. You can do this!

Push AUD out of your mind.

AUD is 100% pure evil and is considered probably the hardest test for amount of study materials available.

    Just focus on FAR.
