As the topic says I just found out I failed FAR with a 66 (SIMS really messed me up) I am currently in the middle of AUD about half way through the Becker book.

Need some guidance on what I should do next. Restart my studying for FAR and take in beginning of July? or continue my AUD studying?

    You help is very appreciated.

Do I really have to relearn “everything”? I don't think I have to go that far for the 9 points

    Jeff – thoughts?

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

Take FAR Again … Stop the AUD studying … As far as I have read when you fail, you dont need “9” points you need 75 … You still have to know everything and a 65 isn't just a “refresher” you have to learn many more concepts and understand them.

I wish I did this when I failed REG and AUD … But I continued on and battled with them …

    Just my thoughts

    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

That's crazy but the same thing happened to me. Found out I got a 66 on FAR yesterday but I already started with Audit and am taking it May 30th. Since you can't take it again until July just get audit done now.

Audit and FAR seem to be different enough so you won't mix up the information you learned for FAR. It also takes some of the stuff from BEC if you've taken that. I'm gonna study for FAR after audit, and save REG for last.

Apparently I did well on the MC but the SIMS (as I knew after I finished the test) ruined my score. Journal entries are important. Good to know for next time.

Plus if you take it by the end of May you can find out your audit score on June 9th. A pass on that would be a boost going forward. Roger is pretty good for Audit with his mnemonics; trying the ninja mcq for this one in addition to that.

Of course it depends if your working; I'm not but if you are it might make sense to keep studying far. Either way it will definitely be the best one to be done with

In that case maybe stick with Far and try to take it early July. Tough call.. good luck!

    Some helpful advice:

    1. If you have a question, ask it in the A71 FAR Study Group. Also try to answer some of the questions asked. Viewing the same question in Becker vs. in the forum format makes your brain think a little different.

    2. Know why an answer is right and why it is wrong.

    3. Just because you work FT and go to the gym 5 days a week means nothing. The CPA exam doesn't care. I went to the gym at 5am, then work and was able to pass.

    4. If you suck at a topic, go back and take notes again. I basically rewrote the FAR book from Becker as it helped me understand the material. Even Jeff says highlighting is not the way to go.

It sounds like you will have trouble with a 75 unless you really buckle down and study. Unless your GF is reading you FAR material, tell her you need to study. I hated life while studying and I am married with a house to maintain…no excuses. There are 30 other threads out there right now of people making excuses.

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed

If I could go back and change I would not apply for every NTS right away. In SD they last for a 12 months.

@kyle – on off chance you fail FAR, I would keep studying for AUD. If you do, then quickly switch to FAR and reschedule AUD because FAR is so much material and you don't want to lose it all. I would keep going on FAR, but I was stupid and paid for all my test in the beginning….

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

    *expired
