    Hey!

I wrote REG twice and passed with 77, just got my BEC results today morning and I failed with 60. This was the second time I attempted BEC. I dont know how to study this subject I thought this was the easiest. I failed the first time with 56 that was only cause I really hadnt studied anything back then, this time I actually studied a lot. I hate it when this happens.

I’ve only given two subjects, my REG credit would expire on August 2018.

I would really like some advice on how to study/ prepare for my BEC exam. Very desperate and really need help.

    Thankyou

@srp which software are you using? I used Becker and the 1st time I took the exam (before new format) I got a 70, then a 74 (new format), then a 78 (just released). My point is each time I studied I picked up something different that I did not understand the last time. I also did what felt like a million!!!!! Multiple choice questions. I would not worry about the WC but focus on a lot of multiple choice questions and don't ignore the SIMS. You can do this just have to commit a little more time into it.

I used Wiley CPA and slammed the heck out of the MCQ. I found that doing those and then doing the formal writing ones helped the most. If I could do the formal writing ones near perfect, I knew that I knew the material. Think about it that way. As you go through your notes, write down your own questions to come and answer later. Like “describe how increasing the Treasury Reserve Fund affects the Economy”- then you can test your knowledge of Supply and Demand on a Macroeconomic scale. And if you can answer the question correctly, then you have mastered that section.

@srp – are you using Becker? I took BEC a total of 4x (including my lame attempt 7 years ago). I finally passed when I purchased the Becker Final Review as a crash course before the exam. I think it really boosted my score. I know how you feel. I just bombed FAR with the same score as you. It's a hard pill to swallow. I just reapplied for the exam, ordered the 2018 Becker book, and ordered the FAR final review. Didn't think I would spend $250 before 6:30am today…but such as life.

You will get it! Persistence is everything. Also – you are not a lone. Trust me. I am right there with you…

I just passed BEC on my second attempt. I used Becker self study both times, but this time i also used the Gliem study bank. It has hundreds of MC, and plenty of sims and WC practice on each sub topic. Basically you need to find a software that works for you to teach you the basics, then for review go through as many questions as you can get your hands on. Thats how i went from a 68 to an 84. Hope this helps. Good luck

Easy to say, but don't get discouraged. I failed BEC 3 times before finally receiving a passing score today. Don't get caught up in the IT discussions you see on here. Study each section equally and hammer home your weaknesses. For me, it was cost accounting and some of the financial management parts. I gave myself a week and a half to review this last time. During review, I printed out the Becker chapter outlines and read through those at least a dozen times and made flash cards for all of the important concepts in the text. If you can talk about the concepts out loud while reviewing the flash cards, you know that material. Keep chugging! It can be done!
