I’m in California and have been approved to sit for th exams. I haven’t made my selections yet because I want to make sure I’m ready.

Apparently, I have one year from the approval date (9/5/2012) to make my exam selections.

    Questions:

Once selected, how long to I have to take the exams?

If an exam is passed successfully, how long before they expire?

How does the new rule in CA affect the expiration date?

If I don’t complete all exames successfully by 12/31/2013, do I need to go back to school for a Master’s degree?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Questions:

Once selected, how long to I have to take the exams?

A: Once you select your exams you will receive a NTS. You will have 9 months to take your exams.

If an exam is passed successfully, how long before they expire?

A: Each passing grade will have a lifespan of 18 months from EXAM day.

How does the new rule in CA affect the expiration date?

A: Which expiration date? Passing scores still live for 18 months. Your application is approved, so if you select all four exams and take them this year you are good to go. But the new requirements effect licensure too. “In order to qualify for the current Pathways 1 or 2, you must complete all the necessary requirements and submit your licensure application to the California Board of Accountancy no later than Dec. 31, 2013.”

If I don't complete all exams successfully by 12/31/2013, do I need to go back to school for a Master's degree?

A: Either that or you will need to complete all of the required coursework in addition to your bachelor's.

    I hope this is helpful!
