Or do you answer based on your current knowledge of the subject? Any thoughts on either method?

Round 1 going through the MCQ I use the book. I think it reinforces the concepts. Round 2 going through MCQ I don't use the book. Round 1 usually takes a long time to get through the material, but I think it makes a huge difference in the end–for me.

I do not use the book. I answer it based on what I got from watching the lecture and reading over it once. By missing the problem, I get mad and it makes me remember why I got it wrong better.

I answered without the book but then if I got it incorrect I went back to the book.

On the first round, I use my notes to help me answer questions that I am clueless on. I tried doing the questions on my own for the first round, but I just get to frustrated and demotivated by failing scores lol

Hm. At first I used my notes/book to help me answer a few questions.

Now.. I think it helps me better if I go through a block of Q's first, compare my answers to the book, and anything I got wrong or didn't understand.. i'll read the text.

My thought is this.. some Q's I will not know the answer to them… I use these Q's to practice guessing (ie. eliminating answers and thinking through the problem).

Yes. I find that looking for the answer in the book helps me remember the concept as opposed to just flipping to the back and reading the solution.

I look for the answers in my book and notes. It helps pound the concepts in my head. However, as times goes on, I notice I rely on the book a lot less.
