Do you brush off a complicated topic, or stick with it untill you get it? - Page 2

I’m using CPAexel. I’m currently on the “Dollar Value LIFO” section. CPAexcel suggest that the “Estimated Average Total Study Time” for this section is 21 minutes.

I don’t see how that can possibly be. This is a complicated multiple step formula. And that is just memorizing the formula, not even the theory behind it. I’m got the basics notes down. Why its used, simplified formula, but I just feel if I spend more than an hour on this topic I’m spending too long. The NINJA notes don’t even mention it once.

I’m going to stick with my notes, move on, and come back to it after I’ve gotten through all of the material,

Who else feels the same way? Do you have a different topic like this one you feel the same about?

Is dollar value LIFO Retail heavily tested?? In Becker it's only supplementary material which they say to read through and “what sticks, sticks”

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

@MustPass1988 I was wondering the same. As I said, Roger does not emphasize this topic. BUT – Jeff's TB has quite a few questions on $ Value LIFO.

I think regular dollar value LIFO is regularly tested but I know the retail method specifically was definitely in the supplementary/not tested much category…Meh, I'm not going to waste my time on it 🙂

I usually make sure I grasp a few broad ideas and get the definitions down then I move on. That way I can come back and build on that when I come back to it. If I still don't get it I make sure to go over it two more times before I take the exam.

    BEC-51,71,70,77
    AUD-50,62,68 (retake july)
    REG-55
    FAR-15(didnt study)

I'm still waiting on Jeff to create a device where I can plug in like the Matrix rather than go through the trouble of learning it.

Any time you see CPAExcel give you an estimated study time… add like 45-60 minutes to that amount lol

and I have to agree with Kricket

    BEC - ✔
    REG - ✔
    AUD - ✔
    FAR - 11/29/14
