I have been working on getting thru the lectures for FAR with Becker. I do find them helpful now on understanding the material but I just wonder if I will forget what I’m learning later one. According to the NINJA method it says hammer out lectures then work on MCQ bc if you do them right after lectures you will have to re-learn the stuff anyway. I am just hoping the lectures will stick with me.

I think the lectures are definitely helpful in introducing the topics to you, but you will definitely not remember all of the details. I think most of the details (formulas and calculations) will be relearned and reinforced into your memory when you're doing more and more MCQs and/or rewriting your notes.

I do think the lectures are definitely worth not skipping over.

Lectures are boring, but tough to avoid or get by without. They highlight the main topics and help give an introduction so that when you start MC's you have at least a background and can read through the remainder on your own time. I had to fight the urge to doze off constantly, but your vigilance will be rewarded. Follow the set process as best you can for at least one section, and then feel free to tweak it as you see fit.

I've never seen/done a lecture before (the reason is because the Becker books were donated to me), hence I think they are unnecessary IF you are very familiar with the material.

I think it depends on your learning style. I don't find them very helpful. But even in college the majority of my learning was at home reading the books & working problems so I don't think I'm an auditory learner. I also find it hard to pay attention to audio. I stopped watching the lectures after audit 2 because it was just too time consuming & I felt I was better served using that time to read the book. I haven't watched any FAR lectures & don't plan to.

That said I just graduated from college last year so all this is fairly fresh. Haven't seen anything I don't remember doing in college so it's more of a refresher. I could see where the lectures may help explain something that you're stuck on or that you don't remember at all.

Also I don't have any scores yet so I may regret not watching them later. We'll see.
