So I procrastinated a bit and I need to take FAR by mid October. Is one month enough time to study for and pass FAR? I work full-time, and my sister is getting married Oct 1 so that’s been interfering with my plans. I think I would be able to realistically study 15 hours a week. Am I being crazy? lol

Personally, I think FAR needs at least 2.5 to 3 months of study time with a 15 hours a week study schedule. Everybody is different and need a different amount of time. Have you passed any other exam yet? I would say if this is your first time taking the FAR exam, you would need may be at least few more weeks to study than what you have planned. This time frame may work for Audit or BEC exam but for FAR, I am not sure.

At first blush, I'm gonna give you an honest HELL NO.

I just went through it, been studying since June – still didn't get through all of the materials. (Now, to be fair, there was vacation in there, family visiting, work obligations too.) But it's a TON OF MATERIAL. If you're relatively comfortable with the subject matter, then maybe – but man, it'll be tough. Good luck!!!

If you can increase your study time to 25 hours a week, yes. If I could study 20+ hours a week, anybody can LOL.

From what I have seen, I would say that some people only need a total of 150 hours and some need 240 hours, but from my experience, 200 hours is the magic number for understanding the topics well enough to pass the test. When I was at 50 hours, I would see some long and tricky questions that I would get wrong, and when I look at the answers, I would say to myself that theres no way I would be able to solve those problems with long paragraph as questions and long calculations to arrive to the solutions. But once I hit the 200 hours of study time, I was starting to fly through those questions.
