Can some people post the level of difficulty of exams for me. I’ve read some places people think AUD and BEC are the easiest exams. I’ve taken REG and BEC and have found REG to be a different beast in comparison to BEC. I would like to try to get 2 sections out of the way in the next testing window (easier sections) so I can dedicate more time to study for REG and FAR. I just want to figure out if I should just use the wiley book and testbank to study for BEC and AUD because I plan on purchasing a review course (such as Gleim, Becker, Yaeger) for REG and FAR because I honestly believe I can’t pass harder sections just with the wiley test book. Thanks for any help.

    REG- ?? (8/13)
    AUD-TBA
    FAR-TBA

For what it's worth, everybody told me I'd have a blast with AUD and it would be a walk in the park after doing well on the other exams. NOPE.

FAR: Hardest to study for, but in my opinion, my easiest exam.

REG: Not too bad to study for, but my exam was not representative of what I studied.

BEC: I found this to be relatively easy, both to study for and to take.

AUD: Studying for this exam has been a nightmare so far. So damn nitpicky.

I'm going against the grain here. BEC owned me. I consider it the mutt of the exam, like 7 different unrelated classes rolled up into one exam.. I have a tax background, so REG was not as tough for me. I'll say from hardest to easiest:

    BEC (too many different topics)

FAR (so much quantity to learn)

REG (challenging, but I enjoy tax)

AUD (we'll see, waiting until Monday … but barely no calculations, which I don't like)

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

I agree with Peetree I thought REG was the hardest.

In order from most difficult to least, in my experience:

REG (Worrying because I'm going into tax!)

    BEC

    FAR

    AUD

FAR is an absolute TON of material, but I thought it was all logical whereas REG and BEC consisted of a lot of random information that you had to just memorize. I really think if you have journal entries down, FAR is easier to master than the other two.

My opinion on AUD may be skewed because I took it right after I graduated and our audit classes were tailored to meet the needs of the CPA exam.

    AUD - 99 (5/2013)
    BEC - 93 (5/2013)
    FAR - 97 (7/2013)
    REG - 94 (8/2013)
